I'd like the MPC to continue to send midi tempo ticks after stop is pressed and the MPC is idle. All my other hardware midi sequencers do. It's lame.

My Sequential synths with midi clocked LFOS and arpeggiators etc do not operate when the MPC is not playing so patches sound different because the LFOs aren't running. You can't just jam on arpeggio patches because the arp doesn't run so nothing happens when you press the keys. It's a nightmare for playing around with sound design.

Some of them (Korg/Roland) switch back to internal midi clock (no option to turn this off on the Prologue) when the clock stops and it just creates midi timing issues and effects glitches when you press play again. This is an absolute nightmare if you want to sample it.

Elektron gear, Cirklon, Squarp, Bigwig, Cubase, Reason all support this and it's really **** annoying that the new "midi centrepiece of my studio" is unable to clock my gear when it's not playing.

Golembeats wrote:Hi All, new guy here. I've searched the manual, youtube, and here. Admittedly I don't subscribe to all the usual sites but I think I've done enough due diligence on the following.

The only option for changing track length within a sequence as far as I can tell is in terms of beats but it would be great if it was in terms of steps. If the grid is set at 16th notes, then it would be cool to be able to make a track, say, 7/16ths and have it loop independently of sequence length to create polyrhythms. That's the main feature I miss about my Elektron boxes.

Am I missing something? Is it obvious? Am I dufus (probably)? If it can be done, please fill me in! Thanks

That is a feature that we are waiting from a long time. As you say in terms of beats you can do it but not in steps like 3/16 or 9/16, etc

Many today machines do this actually such Rolands, Korgs and Elektrons. Hope they implement this soon in order to create nice polyrythms

Waiting for this too

Small thing I would like to see is a magnetic pickup type distortion.
Its already in Electric, so it just has to be made a simple effect.
Usage is limited cause these are only useful on individual voices, not on a polyphonic sum.
But still I wouldvlove to see it on some samples.

Realtime switching between song and edit mode would be great.
So you can loop and live freak patterns on stage.
I hope Akai add this in MPC3 firmware.
the new performance mode in mpc3.0 is probably a good alternative workarround, but I like the structere in songmode. Like trackers as renoise.

Highest stem separation quality option on HW ...

Back in the day we used to plan coffee/ spliff breaks synced per time stretch commands ... So who cares if its two minutes.. just means more coffee or phatter spliffs ;)

I request the ability to access your internal SSD on my MPC Key 61 when in standalone mode and connected to a computer. I have lots of samples I want to access on the drive from my daw. Yeah I know and the MPC plugin and use controller mode. It’s not the solution I want. Thank you kindly

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but we need better editing for velocity/probability on grid mode. Since they're adding a select all button, they should also make it where you can hit a pad and see ONLY the velocity bars for that pad. It's super tedious trying to edit the velocity of a snare for example, when you have to fight through a sea of highhat velocity bars.

The BIGGEST thing missing from the MPC is 1/128 time correction, which means 1/196 when doing triplets. The Roger Lynn MPCs had it and actually Native Instruments Maschine has it. Why Akai removed this, I don't know. Everybody should petition and scream out loud for this feature that use to be there to be added. You guys have no idea.

In MPC 3 I would love love love it if there was a one-tap option to send the trimmed section directly to Sample Edit without needing to use “Bounce to Sample” as a workaround.
This would improve workflow for users working with audio clips and loops so much.

Are you referring to the currently selected (trimmed) region in an audio track? So adjust the start and end of the region, hit a button that sends that region to sample edit? Would this need to have any existing audio track insert FX rendered to it as well?
