Meanwhile this morning I 'upgraded' (in a functional sense) to the 2.8.0 version on my MPC, as it's the latest working version of the OS that I can find
None of my projects work, 100s of dollars of software upgrades not accessible, but at least I can send MIDI to the device with expected results and use some other pieces of hardware that were released 30-40 years ago, it's a small win.
