This Amp Sim video shows why I kinda like that most Akai FX are kinda plain but decent. It forces us to stack FXs in all kinds of way until we find our sound without it leaving an Akai aftertaste to our music.

Since Air is the obvious source for new plugins, Loom II and Hybrid 3 as plugins to start.
Moog was bought recently by InMusic so having Moog design MPC stand alone versions of their plugins would be pretty fantastic. Amp Sims, as is mentioned for clean sounds it's not that bad, but a solid heavy distorted guitar plugin would be great. Would love to see some granular synthesis synths or FX.

I'd love a Z8 Plugin at the very least but they could definitely improve upon that if they chose to.

But I personally think they should just beef up the current sampling system. Add a Mod Matrix, add the better envelopers, more LFO's, 3 filters. Wouldn't be too hard to bring up what they have to .

I have been asking them for this since 2019, along with plenty of others. I don't think we are EVER getting improvements to the sampler engine. My 25 year old EMU still blows away my MPC every single time unless its drums (which suck on the EIV). This 'Akai' has no clue what went on with the MPC4K or the Z samplers.

I really doubt we'd ever see anything outside of the In Music Group companies added to the MPC. More likely and Air Music kind of copy of them, now maybe Moog, but with Moog maybe MPC versions of the existing VSTs than new products.

I would like to see MPE added, I think OPX4 would be a good synth to add that functionality to. I have the Hydrasynth, but I can't use MPE mode with the MPC, but it's not an issue, I'm not a keys player, so I don't miss anything. I have Pitch Innovation's Fluid Chords midi generator. That needs MPE, and would be great to record it's midi to a midi track, to use with an external synth, or internal if they added one.

not the workflow but just the sound would be fine; and maybe and s950 filter plugin

Try this only if you have a pc. It's FREE and it's crazy dope. I use it all the time.

Or....

Yeah, but I still doubt it. I'm not against the idea at all. I'm glad if Akai are open to it, but I'd think they'd need to invest in getting 3rd parties to do anything.

Isn't that a new format, rather than existing plugins. So more suited for 'types' of plug ins, than listing actual plug in names. I'd really like Objekt, but with that format, it wouldn't be Objekt itself, but more a request for aphysical modelling synth like Objekt and Chromophone.

Or have I misunderstood, does that format allow existing VSTs easier to work in an MPC ?

I don't know much about this stuff, but I get the feeling when they made SubFactory, it was made with the goal of working as a VST and an MPC plugin at the same time, hence some of the limitations. My Hydrasynth creates a waveform display by analyzing the the result, but I get the impression the waveforms displayed in SubFactory are derived from a set of images that match the position in the wavetable. And maybe this is why you can't import wavetables, as they need a set of images to go with it.

I believe QUBIQ was a development platform that allows the creation of plugins in whatever format you need (VST, AU, etc), maybe like Hise, or perhaps more dumbed down like Romplur or Maize.

QUBIQ was created by a related party to inMusic (Jennifer Hruska). They release a very basic plugin (ring the alarm) with QUBIQ referenced in the install folder, so it seems like they are testing the waters.

If it is this, then likely to be for indies to develop new niche plugins from scratch within certain restrictions rather than a port of existing VST plugins. I'm all for it as long as the inevitable walled-garden distribution model is not too greedy (assume it will be via an 'MPC plugin' app store with a % kickback).

The problem with these marketplaces is that there's always a few 'favoured' vendors who quickly overtake it. For example the 'expansion exchange' site got quickly taken over by loopmasters and a couple of others who mostly did lazy Expansion Builder mass conversions of existing sample packs (no proper MPC kits, just folders of one shots in an XPN). So unless you are releasing new stuff on it every day, your content just gets buried under all the noise.
