How to copy events aligned to bars?

not understanding why "copy events" in the sequence menu doesnt do what you want. you can choose what bars to copy and where to copy to. what am i missing?

When copy pasting events, for some reason they will be placed with the first note on the first downbeat, or at least in the OS versions I'm familiar with, meaning if what you copied did NOT have a note on the first beatdown then the whole sequence would be skewed. I seem to remember there being another way of solving this problem that I can't recall right now(anyone know what I mean?), but the way I used to do it was to record a note on the first beatdown before copy pasting for everything to be placed as intended and then delete that note afterwards. Hope that made sense.

But that has the same issue. I have to move the cursor to the exact position in the destination bar. Easy if the first event is fully quantized, very hard if not.

I'm used from Reaper (a DAW) that I can select a bar (or another range) and the insert point is taken from the start of the range, not the start of the first event.

Just stick a dummy note in front on beat. Select and copy. Use the dummy note as a paste position and delete afterwards.

I saw an MPC live II at pawn shop for $800. I could talk them down to $700. Good deal for modern mpc.

Perfect chance for me to upgrade. I have the doe.

Only way I've found via the touchscreen.

Did like on JJOS it copied blank space too. So if I highlighted bar 1 and copied it to bar two it didn't matter where the first note was it was referencing from beat 1

That's what I think should be possible in the future with MPC 3. The "loop section" could be the reference region. Or they add another region as in a "real" DAW (Reaper has a loop and a select region, I don't if that's then norm).

The copying and pasting of events should be a lot more visual and the screen should show the range you have selected by highlighting. I can only hope the current implementation is temporary and not finished. To have such powerful hardware and not implement simple editing functions would be criminal.

I did a wireframe image of how I'd do it (with my UI/UX experience), but can't post it on here sadly.
