I am really not liking Air Reverb of Mpc, you can try tweaking any parameter you want but it always sounds metallic and weak to my ears.
At the end I use a Neunaber Immerse connected to the outputs 3/4 in send, it sounds beautifully and works with line levels.
But then, more stuff to transport, cables, a small mixer for more outputs, it would be much more fun to have a good reverb inside MPC and just use MPC alone.
I know we are working with limited resources and good reverbs are very cpu hungry, but I also know that in the 80s they used to make pleasant reverbs with a fraction of the ram we use now and with very basic processors.
So do you guys think it's possible to make a good standalone reverb for MPC, and it's just Air that doesn't know how to do it or with these resources we have we cannot ask for more?

I concur with what you say. If there's a way to make them sound good, I haven't found it. And I'd love to hear from those who have.

I think there is no way, they should make a better one, if that's possible.
If you keep the decay lower then 3 seconds, it makes its job.
But if you look for longer decays, it starts to get harsh and unpleasant.

For some odd reason...Most of the Reverbs are set to 100% Mix as a Default (sounding Sh*tty). Soon as I load a Reverb, I turn the MIX percentage down to 20% or so. Only then can you get an accurate sound of the Reverbs

It's not an odd reason.
Reverb is supposed to be used on send/return, so it's right, it has to be at 100% mix and then you use the send of the track to feed it.

I think you answered your own question

Off course, yes, no.

Maschine Plus effects are simply FANTASTIC sounding, and so are all the plugins, but you'll hit the CPU/RAM wall way faster. It's a trade of.

I'm sure AKAI/Air are coming with some sort of Pro Reverb plugin soon enough, in the meantime I limit the amount of reverb standalone because it gets muddy quite fast anyway. It's fine on synthesizers, not the best on vocals...

Neunaber Immerse

yes. I do the same for most spatial effects as well, pedals, as a guitarist, I'm not the biggest fan of Air chorus/phaser/flanger...

I really hope Air will come out with a Reverb Pro, I saw they make a VST called Ether which looks quite interesting...so...maybe...
I kinda like Air phaser, not that bad if you use Tron mode with very slow rate and high feedback.
But yes, some Air fx are quite good, I really like the Filter Gate and use it a lot.
Eq is good and also compressors.
I just think they lack a bit of spatiality somehow, I am not a huge fan of the delay also, a bit static, but I should give a try to the Pro one maybe.
As for filters, I still use the Akai ones, nobody talk about them but I actually think they are really good, simple and effective, the LP is great if you raise the resonation. Two knobs, old school but a lot of character. The Air ones are meh.
Did you ever try Neunaber Immerse pedal reverb?
It's just great in my opinion. It works really good in output send on Mpc. It never gets harsh even when you get to infinite, very very pleasant and a lot of spatiality.

After trying air delay pro you wont care about the other delays EVER again.

Only One Way Use A Reverb Huh
Soooooooo....You Can't use a reverb on a Pad instead of a Send/Return? :smh:

You can use it as you want.
But using it in send/return means you have more cohesion and you just use one instance.
Not by chance reverbs have been used this way since decades and not by chance presets are all at 100% mix, isn't it?

I know you weren't talking to me, but I have a question. Is it really that good, or were you being sarcastic?

I've been debating on whether I should get Air Delay Pro or not. I want to, but I need to do more research 1st. For some reason, I keep getting a recurring urge to purchase it, though.

I try to refrain from impulse-buying, so yeah, I need to do more research 1st.

No, I was talking in general, nothing cryptic or in circles, no sarcasm.

It’s a truth! Hop off the fence, go ahead, get it. I’m very confident you will be very happy with it. It’s a damn good plug-in. NOW, I’d love to see “Reverb Pro” that gives mpc reverbs the same respect as delay pro gave to delays! I said that before in several threads.
