I’m experiencing an audio issue with my Audio4+. Every 30 seconds to 1 minute, the sound starts cracking more and more, gets slightly detuned, then returns to normal for 2 to 3 minutes before cracking again.
I also tried with an Audio4C, but the problem persists.
I even rolled back to MPC firmware version 2, but nothing helped.
I tested both iConnect units with Maschine, iPad, and Mac—no issues at all.
What can I do? Does Akai monitor this thread?
Hey Jeezs,
I had exactly the same issue you're describing when using my Akai MPC with the iConnectivity Audio4+ interface. I was experiencing crackles, pops, and distorted audio that would repeatedly come and go, exactly as you described.
The solution:
The problem arises because the MPC and the iConnectivity interface must share exactly the same digital clock source. By default, if they aren't properly synchronized, you'll hear these periodic distortions.
Here's the fix:
Connect your MPC to the USB port of the iConnectivity interface.
Open the iConfig software.
Navigate to the Audio Info section.
Under Clock Source, select the USB port your MPC is connected to as the clock source (e.g., "USB Port 1 Clock").
The reason this works is that the MPC needs to be the master clock in the setup. By setting the interface to sync its clock from the MPC, both devices will run perfectly synchronized at the same sample rate (44.1 kHz).
After doing this, the audio was crystal clear with no crackles or pops at all.
Hope this helps!
