it is EXACTLY as you said, just run VNC server on it to find out.
Desktop software is designed with mouse controls in mind and you are able to operate it entirely without looking at the mpc , in the standalone mode however, even with native mouse support which only "emulates" touch controls, sooner or later you will have to focus your eyes on the controller and as soon as you do it, you will have to THINK to focus on the external sceen again. It's not natural whatsoever, it's not same as let's say computer keyboard where you can type without even looking at it - touch controls requires you to refocus on the controller wheter you like it or not. Been there, done that and let's face it, in my opinion it it's a shit workflow full of cons, no matter what pros you throw at it

Or for Old Head Like myself...Pluggin My Live into the Living Room TV to help my Old Ass Eyeballs

Or...Hooking in to a HDMI Splitter to generate My Screen Flow on Multiple Monitors.

All I would need to bring is my LIVE and Plug right in.

It wouldn't take away from any Real Estate on the back of the MPC.

Hell...I don't know ANYONE using the Kensington Lock on the back of MPCs  Yet some of ya'll find it Offensive to request HDMI Support smh

A laptop would be smaller and lighter than a Live.

A Laptop Doesn't have MPC Pads lol. I wanna showcase me making music in realtime. Not Send Mails, Write Xcel Spreadsheets and PDF files
:smh:

Honestly, I've used mine several times. Especially when I stay at a hotel for an extended period of time and have room service cleaning the room (which usually happens when I'm at the pool or the bar - LOL)! I always lock my MPC to a piece of furniture so any sticky finger staff don't run off with it.

My uncle won the Golden Gloves NYC & got me into boxing & as a teen. Trust me I respect boxers. I never really got into Onyx. It was cool when they shot the movie Strapped with Fredro Star in hood, Thomas Jefferson Houses, the same place Black Rob (RIP) is from.

Problem with your logic is that you see it as if you’ll use that screen for everything and only the screen. HDMI and mouse support for the piano roll and arranger (I use a force) would be amazing. It can really be the best of two worlds if your willing to open your mind to the possibilities.

I don't follow your logic. Other than multi touch, what is it that a touch input could do that a click can't do? A mouse is more capable than a finger touch because of the scroll wheel and multiple buttons. A right click can open context windows. Left click and hold can emulate touch and drag. Of course that functionality would have to be tailored to mouse input but i can't see any reason that you would need to look at the touchscreen because the mouse can't do the same input(assuming the suitable programming in the MPC os). Can you give me an example of what I would have to go back to the touch screen for because a mouse couldn't handle the same input on a external monitor?
