Made a ton of beats yesterday and ran into three bugs (pretty much classic Akai—new OS means we all need a bit of patience).
Quick heads-up for headphone users:
1. After a restart, I got a really nasty audio spike. One of my longer samples had developed a bunch of brutal peaks—straight into the ears. It actually reminded me of those terrifying spikes in VCV Rack back when it was still in beta. So if you ever see something like that in the waveform, take your headphones off immediately. I didn’t… I even played it twice ♂️
Honestly, this is something they should fix with a built-in, non-disableable limiter to protect people’s hearing. Stay safe.
2. I had three samples go missing after working on a project that was first saved internally and then moved to external storage.
3. Every time I resample, I have to do it twice. The first attempt always results in a silent clip, while the second one works as expected.
Still, I’m stoked and can’t wait to get home from work and keep playing…
I did report this to Akai via email this morning.
Cheers!
