IMHO, 447's are far from being true and flat. Yes, they are sticky, yes they are loud as hell, but there is a tradeoff. I like using these carts to sample drum breaks but nothing else. 447 muddies up the mids and makes the highs annoyingly lispy. Try listening to a same recording on a cd and on vinyl with 447. Immediate difference. Ive been using shures for years and I used to bug out when i hear a same record with different needles and hear all the nuances i never heard thru these shures. Cheaper needles(stanton 500) dont stick as well and may eat your vinyl if too much weight is used, but they sound good for what it is. I wouldnt use anything else for scratching, but for sampling, shures dont pass the test.
