Pete Rock is STILL making Hot Beats, Period!!! I doubt if anybody on this board can make beat as good
The New Pete Instrumental CD is All
dat, a little up thin in overall sound, that could've been corrected during
mixdown with right techinques. about that Pete and Cl 12' Pete only did one
side. What gotta remember is Pete and CL never were really underground ,"underdogs" but not underground. The made Radio records (I got the love & I'll take you there) I even read Articles from back in the day where they
had wanted to hook up with Snoop and Dre. Plus, MOST artist want to keep up with times and Still retain the style and NO ONE as done this as well as Pete Rock not even Premier. If you play a Sp 12 beat for an MC today, he'd be pasted over for more crisp and polish Production. It not to the SP 1200's Studio 440's s950's and Emax's aren't useful, Producers are finding
new ways to these aging Pieces of gear. Plus Finding Upgrades and replace
-ment parts is getting harder and harder! Bottom line:There is no such thing as a 12 bit sell out! I find that the same type attitudes that you find with so called "backpack kids" most of are suburban types who secretly listening to hip hop in 90's thinks they can call the shots cuz the Street dudes who "Don't Care about hip hop" Have took over!
