I would pay for

audio tracks(8)

a software patch that allowed 1GB memory

audition programs.

dvd burning capabilities

a software patch to turn the screen off.

aouto time strech, like abelton live

a great autochop algorhythm

midi over usb(every other manufacturer does this)

being able to use all 20 available outputs!

Here is my feature wishlist:

- non-destructive MIDI editing
- Quantize midi notes with strenght (0-100%)
- copying, pasting & deleting segments of bars
- monitoring the analog inputs in main & seq page
- ability to apply FX to a selection of a sample (region/ trim)
- a real three band EQ with frequency adjustments per part
- a main stereo channel (with FX bus, gain & the three band eq mentioned earlier)
- more combinations of fx instead of only A+B & C+D
- 256 MIDI tracks instead of 128
- ability to merge a stereo audio file into one combined mono in 1 time
- a build in programmable arpeggiator & a chord builder
- a way to auto assign a sample wich has _A#2 in its name to program part A#2 (maybe add an option window when we load a serie of samples wich asks: "auto assign key nrs.?" ... Or something like that)
- SHIFT + undo = go back 2 steps, undo = undo previous step
- pitch shifting a track in main window
- recording L + R input to 2 different midi notes at the same time (so input L to midi note X and input R to midi note Y
- auditioning a program from HD
- a real TR step sequencer:
->There are 16 pads available. A bar has 16 steps. WHy not build a visual TR step sequencer like on a TR707 and make the 16 pads the 16 steps and the pad banks represent the different bars. So pad D will bring you to bar 4 etc.. You get the picture ;)
- ability to trigger any drumprogram- sound with any other drumprogram-sound
- improved fx alghoritmes (alltho IF we get this, I think we should get this for free)
- ^ ability to use all the 20 outputs indeedy ^ ( or does this need a hardware touch? )
- solo/mute in the pad mixer
Some minor stuff:
- SHIFT + "next or prev track" = next or previous sequence
- default on startup = "merge" instead of "replace" in seq pg
- play/stop & overdub on QWERTY keyboard so we can control the mpc entirely from a distance.
- in main page, when the cursor is on "track" and we press "block cursor down", the cursor jumps to "simul play". This should jump to "out1:part"

Hey Sean !

I'd be happy to pay for some new features but not for some bug fixes, so far here is one list that everybody on this forum has updated so i can says that it is probably the things people want the most :

SAMPLER

- Intellisampling.
- EQ on mixer page.
- Sample loop lenght destination in the modulation matrix for granular synthesis and granular fx.
- more mod destinations (filt env and aux anv l1, l2, l4; lfo 1&2 beat.
- More start points in sample edit (that's cool i could see that one as a good alternative to choping samples, instead of choping loops you could just set startpoints and just assignthe same sample on the pads but with a differents startpoint for each of them !)
- An auto pad assign function for editted samples.
- Auto assign to whole keyspan/or to the next available/white note.
- More filters.
- Stream samples from hard drive.
- Edit sample original note by midi keyboard and access to original note in Ak-sy.s.
- Lock loop lengh in sample loop page.
- Different roll types, maybe customizable.
- Chord Memory (Assign multiple notes to a pad for 1 finger chord triggering)
- Time Line Grid in trim & region window (4 8 16 32 64th)
- One shot loop mode ( play/stop with the pads )
- Better FX algorythm.

SEQUENCER

- Randomise by +/- 0-127 of current value in the velocity multiedit window.
- Splitting function for drum tracks.
- Possibility to select not only contiguous events in seq/step edit.
- Possibility to set different lengh for each track.
- 8 tracks of hard disk recording or RAM based recording.
- Cut note length graphicaly.
- The ability to hold down "rec" in the main mode, and step in your pad events, and use the transport buttons to advance, and add rests.
exactly like the mpc2000xl.
- Access to data in step edit / seq edit when the sequencer is running.
- TC window pad / time field monitoring during playback.
- TC window should retain selection Range and Pad/Notes selection when you access the TC window from seq edit, like added in 1.6 for the Copy To function and is also available for the EDIT functions in seq edit.
- Ability to record solo's.
- Groove templates.
- From MAIN, Track window : COPY track also to another sequence.
- Move Seq loop via Shift+Locate.
Shift+ Bar: >> << = moves "loop
Shift + Step:>> << = Moves "loop-points.
- Song mode : Create a song in real time by using the "Next Sequence" feature.
- Import midi file into TRACK as well as sequence.
- Mute memory, so you could set up 'gang mutes triggered in real time by the mpc's pads.

MISC

- Save entire projects in a ".prj" file.
- Recyclysh chop system.
- full featured Ak-sys software (edit sequence/data/events etc...)
- Screensaver.
- Support 1gb ram.
- full parameter list describtion (hz, mscecs values, ... for cutoff, lfos, and so on ...)
- Empty default programs with values on reset position and possibility to store template programs.
- Q-link: show the actual value of the q-link.
- Audition sample from ext hard drive/load page while sequence playing.
- Move folders in hard drive and Ak-sys.
- Apple loops/acid/rex import.
- User Definable shortcuts via SHIFT + F1-6 soft-keys per window/mode.
- Arpeggiator.
- Mixer and Pad to have their own Midi Channel number and Midi CC chart.
- Solo per sample/sound.
- In TC window/Swing humanize note funtion.
- Burn as audio on cd/zip/etc

FIX

- When sample(s) are setup in Program to play 'Note Off' in the 'play trigger' screen, if you then hit 16 Levels you'll notive that with 'Note Off' selected you can't activate Tuning. only the Velocity setting works.
- "Add to program” and “copy to pad” make the destination pad audible and visually display the destinations pad sound name.
- Separate “Pad Bank” buttons status from “ Program -Mute Mode & Seq Trigger” button status, so each pad status/mode will be individual from eachother.
- After recording in SEQ EDIT, the click still carrys on even after stoping the rec mode.

PS : ikke calm down, stop throwing tantrums, you really suck !

hy sean, could you please elaborate which features your thinkin of? ... imo there are quite some that were useful to implement and i can think of many but it were good to know first what can and what cant be done at all ... you surely know best ...

Yes, he does :?

for the ones that dont know what it is:

Intellisample uses audio thresholds to automatically start, stop, normalize, name and assign samples.

IntelliSample makes it much easier to create custom sounds by eliminating complete steps in the sound creation process. For example, using IntelliSample is a convenient way to continually record from an audio CD, normalize, name, and assign the samples to a program automatically.

IntelliSample uses an audio trigger to begin the recording process. The recording starts when the input level exceeds the adjustable threshold level, and the recording stops when the level drops below the threshold level, putting the Z4 or Z8 into record-standby to wait for the next sample. The recorded samples are automatically named and assigned to a new program, or any specified program.

I seriously dont need this..

Well, Sean mentioned a long time ago that IntelliSample has been implemented already. Sean mentioned that about a year and half ago.

well then we certainly dont need it

There is also allready an unlimited RAM recording feature.. (so you can allready record more than 8 audio tracks!) Implemented in OS 1.6... Why would we need another one, Phunk? :? ... btw, Do you want to turn the MPC into a computer or into an MV ??

Ikke,
What's this about an unlimited RAM recording feature? How does it work??? I'm using OS 1.7. I didn't know we had this feature.
Thanks

Summer, search the board for "Emulating DAW Recording"
