My response was to that comment Boogie. It ain't about purist mentality, or about me thinking one sampler is better then another. I was simply pointing out why this new drum machine would never sound like an SP rather Drumat!c used one or not.
As for people saying **** like, "it's 2005, not 1985". Then you probably feel that R&B today is just as fresh today as it was in 1971? Why dig for wax? All those old groups use outdated gear.. (20x better in quality and sound in fact, but if it's not new, it's not dope and played out right?)
Facts are facts though, thiers a reason the late 80's and early 90's are always gonna be considered as the golden era of Hip-Hop. Just like the late 60's will be considered the golden era of rock. If you don't want to accept that, thats you.
The Thing That Kills me is So of these Many Kids who make up these elitist Rules are From Places, Were you Would have gotted Beer Cans Thrown at you If you came down There Bumpin Hip Hop made on these SAME Machines in the 80's.They Would've Told You to Shut off the Monkey Music. Even now in Northeast Philly you got Cops that are OPEN ARYAN NATION MEMBERS.
Not to Go off the Subject, and no disrepect Drumatic,
But in many Cases For the Producer without $1,000,000 to buy gear, alot of older Equipment Slows you down. Have do get on ebay and Fight with some Nerds for a hardrive for a piece of Gear that use 20yr old Technology to save, and that are way overpriced,or Hunt down the a operating system or a Spar Replacement Part. So for those of us who are willing to mix
some Vintage Gear with new Equipment Shouldn't be Knocked!!
