LAMPDOG:
Test out drum patterns at different timings when you double the resolution.
I usually record at 1/16(3), 1/32 and 1/32(3) with no doubling.
If I double the res I might step down my timing until I get what I want.
When I get intricate with the hitting and can't get it right I'll go into step editing and push the sample around some ticks.[/quote]

Wrong there 4k has 1/32 triplets and 1/64 triplets also. Its no thing to use the grid mode and step input notes also. With off(96) the res is set a 10 ticks like previous models and you can go into 960 ppqs if you want. Play and then set the quantize after if you want.

Realism or Wackism, depending on the skill level of the programmer. :D

i usually double the resolution if im having trouble lockin my drums to a sample... 1/8 time on double resolution works quite nicely though, i have programmed some crazy dums this way...

Okay, I'm guessing that the resolution is actually the accuracy of the sequencer in regards to note placement. Am I correct?

this is an ignorant question, but when you double the tempo u still program at the tempo you want the track to be... right? you don't play the pads double time and slow the tempo back down on playback do you?

yes, you still program at the desired tempo... you just double the amount of bars in your sequence also, then 2 bars of the sequence equals 1 bar of your beat(no better way to explain it)...
