Is there a way to lower the volume of a TRACK instead of using the mixer function in which you have to lower each sound? Becuase I used several sounds on one track and I'd like to lower all of them equally at the same time. Is this possible?

I'm afraid not.

Go to the program screen and lower each samples volume. I think the preset is 70 change it to the one you want..

Yeha, that's really a handy function missing there... an OS update with that possibilty would be great!

I'm in North Milwaukee-on SilverSpring. I got people in the Sherman Park area, I grew up on 41st and Nash.

cant you just keep one sound to each track? problem solved. you got 64 of them. thats enough ryt? and you can lower the volume in the edit screen. just lower each samples volocity and bam, done. also i read somewhere on here you can even highlight more than one event at a time so maybe this can be done if someone knows how to do that. then you could lower the volume of each track. or just keep each sample on it's own track. ryt? thats what it was made for. a drum machine.

but being able to bring a group of sounds down in the mix together should be pretty standard for a sampler, especially if its a multi-sampled intrument program. adjusting individual pads is tedious with instrument programs.

As far as putting different sounds on separate tracks, I think it would be easier to mix your sounds by having your sound in a single track than on individual tracks, cause the mix window is for individual tracks. especially if there's a way to select more than one pad at a time to adjust mix level, like you mentioned. then again muting individual sounds using the pads is pretty nice.

I think it would be ideal if the track volume couild be controlled by an external midi controller. Until then, there's using outboard gear...

It would also be great to filter all the samples in a program at once. I know some one is going to say "just filter them seperately," but in some cases it would be handy.

Example:

R_Bass is a program that comes with the internal memory of the 1K and the samples sound horrible on their own, but when you filter them down, they sound pretty decent. Every time I use this program I have to seperately filter each pad that I am going to use, which is annoying. That's why it would be great to filter all the samples in a program at once.

no wat i meant was you can highlight more than one event in the step editor!!!!!!!!! then u can lower the volocity of all of them thereby lowering the volume. all the events. regardless of wat sample or pad is on the track. get it? this might be possible. does anybody know how to do this? and i dont think you can highlight more than one channel on the mixer? i dont think it's possible. also wat i meant was it's a drum machine that has multiple outputs so thats why they were thinking people would put there diff. sounds on diff. tracks. it was not origanally intended for anything but sequencing and sampling drum sounds. it was hip hop that freaked it into a all in one. anyway any thoughts?

Unfortunately, you can't lower the volumes of the events at the same time, nor can you highlight more than one channel in the mixer.

Another thing that you can't do is change the Bar:Beat:Ticks in Step Edit mode, which sucks!

By barefootbryan2335 Thu Aug 18, 2005 8:48 pm
yeah that does really suck
but watever it does'nt affect my production though cus i like controling every sound, small changes in a sounds volume over time really changes thing's
