i'm not a fan of what Windows does to the audio disk when converting from 12->16->12-bit. Same thing occurs when importing a 16-bit .snd mpc-3000 file. It totally flattens the sound....also it supposedly "normalizes" the data but I can't tell much of a difference.

I agree 100%, I think with the 60 you just have to sample in your sounds. Imports and conversions sound like chit. If I have a wav I want to use on the 60 then I just run a line out on the PC to the MP. That program OmniFlop doesn't actually let you edit, manipulate, or even see the data, it reads your disk and creates an "image" of the contents allowing you to re-create an exact replica to use in the machine the disk was created with.

Imported sounds handle the high end better, but you have more control sampling into the 60 on the sound.

I use both.
