The only settings I see are on the MIDI/ SYNC Page. I can set the MIDI receive, MIDI Thru, and MIDI IN/OUT. Thats it! Im sure the setup is a bit different.
Your right I forgot that the MPC 1000 doesnt have midi clock out (or was it midi time code.. or both?). Thats why its a Fischer Price of an mp.. its way to slimed down. I've kept alot of people from wasting thier money on it cuz it doesnt have the features their looking for.
I do have Sonar set as the master and when I hit play back fro Sonar it triggers the MPC. So I know I have communication between Sonar and my MPC. I just cant seem to create a new MIDI track in Sonar and get it to record a certain pad from the MPC. Im not sure what settings to put into the MIDI track properties. Can anyone break it down?
If all your looking to do is hit the pads and have it record in the sequencer of sonar, you dont need to sync at all. Just set the track in the MPC to a midi output, and set the midi input on the track in Sonar to recieve from the midi output specified in the mpc. Hit record in sonar and hit your pads. Besides that I dont feel like repeating myself so read the rest of what I posted on the thread a bit closer. The mpc's midi setups are basicly identical since midi hasnt changed, with exception for your 1000's lack of capabilities.
That and I dont think your are explaining exactly what you want to do. Are you trying to record into Sonar using the pads on your MPC, and playback sounds in the mpc via the midi data from Sonar? Make sure to be as specific as you can when posting a question so your awnser can be exact and timely.
Your manual should go over all this in the setup portion. I would advise you to use the MPC's sequencer because its alot better than the internal sequencers of a DAW. What you prolly want is just a visual sequencer, but you wont need it once you take the time to learn the lenghts of notes in tics.
