Ok I was wrong....Guess it wasn't black but it was a different color blue....Look at this post form 2003 to see what I am talking about....http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4364....Proves that the black one could be real or fake!!!!

akai should have it where the customer can order whatever color they want

ok, you got me...... all 20 pads and all.

but here is a real fact..... for all of us who has the blue and red box, we will be able to purchase the black kit (black sides and face) from akai. i don't have an exact date and price on that but it will be within the next month or so. (probably sooner) i will get a price shortly and post it. as we all know, the 2.5 is in black, the all new 1ks are in black and the DPS24 will also come in black. i'm not sure about the 4ks. the colors that we all know and love are no longer going to be.

If this kit is reasonably priced, I'd buy it.

the 4k is going to be black to u can se it in the crappy presentation by the crappy guy from the sonicstate video hehe

Because it means that Akai is not just forgotting all about the 1k, and that means better hope for further upgrades etc.

Does anybody know, when they went 2000 -> 2000xl, could you upgrade or was it just 'buy a whole new machine'?

idk if anyone posted but. looks like theirs not going to be any more 2000xls!

yeah noticed that there wasnt any in the brochure. I though they would have tried to endorse the 2000XL edition with the memory card slots more, rather than outsource it altogether.
