OK everyone - just some backround reel quik
- I dont paint things often at all. - I occasionally draw but I do not consider my self good by any means. very amature
- my 1st attempt was a failure because I could not get the labeling to look good.
- I took off every panel and spray painted everything ultra flat black
- when it dried - I went to label the buttons
- the paint was to runny and I was using to big of a paint brush so the button labels looked all globbed up. ( painting that fine is hard )
- once I was done with that I sprayed everything with a clear coat to protect the paint
- I did not like the look at all - even tho the black paint looked perfect - the lettering was horrible. throwing everything off
- THEN I attempted to paint over top of my old paint ( DO NOT DO THIS )
- everything got all textury - real wierd -
- I then stripped the paint with some paint thinnner for the side panels and some metal paint stripper for the face. so that I could give it another go. ( wich was a pain in the ass )
- So. on my 2nd attempt I prepared my self a little bit better
- I went to a hobby store and got some thicker paint to label the buttons with and bought the finest tipped paint brush I could fine so I would have less of a chance of f'ing everything up again.
- I painted it all black - that looked good
- I labeled everything again - this time it looks alot better but I still skeptical about my own work
- much more pleased than the last try tho
- I left the clear coat off this time around
what do you think of it.
and if anyone has any tips for me please throw them at me.
