OK everyone - just some backround reel quik

- I dont paint things often at all. - I occasionally draw but I do not consider my self good by any means. very amature

- my 1st attempt was a failure because I could not get the labeling to look good.
- I took off every panel and spray painted everything ultra flat black
- when it dried - I went to label the buttons
- the paint was to runny and I was using to big of a paint brush so the button labels looked all globbed up. ( painting that fine is hard )
- once I was done with that I sprayed everything with a clear coat to protect the paint
- I did not like the look at all - even tho the black paint looked perfect - the lettering was horrible. throwing everything off
- THEN I attempted to paint over top of my old paint ( DO NOT DO THIS )
- everything got all textury - real wierd -
- I then stripped the paint with some paint thinnner for the side panels and some metal paint stripper for the face. so that I could give it another go. ( wich was a pain in the ass )

- So. on my 2nd attempt I prepared my self a little bit better
- I went to a hobby store and got some thicker paint to label the buttons with and bought the finest tipped paint brush I could fine so I would have less of a chance of f'ing everything up again.
- I painted it all black - that looked good
- I labeled everything again - this time it looks alot better but I still skeptical about my own work
- much more pleased than the last try tho
- I left the clear coat off this time around

what do you think of it.

and if anyone has any tips for me please throw them at me.

painting over the letters was the easy part

re-labeling everything was tough because of how fine they have to be

i need the lables just incase if I forget where a button I need is

I just about have it memorized tho

but thank

"If anyone has a better idea for painting the labels"

Get them silk-screened. Better but not cheaper.

^^ Yeah silkscreen would be the nicest, otherwise transparent stickers with white type. Or alternatively vinyl lettering which would just stick every individual letter down at once, then you peel the back off. (you get it made at certain printers, and it is very cheap. You know the kind of lettering you get on the walls at exhebitions, trade shows etc? that. Might not be very accurate on such a snall scale though...)
