HDM10-HDD adapter kit for the 1000-NEW INFORMATION 11/25/05

i just saw all this madness, thought i'd jump into the fire and order one of these here mounting plate deals...

december.. dude told me they weren't expecting more until december. don't know whether they had a grip and just ran out, or if they've ever seen one.

of course i have no problem with that, because I'm a grown ass man who's seen the whole world forty times over...but from reading the insane posts from some of you regarding the new OS/HD stuff, you're somehow going to be angry: "why don't they hire every cab in america and drive one to each of our houses with a top model escort i am so angry!!!!"

sparq...sorry if this has already been asked and/or answered already (its kinda tough to keep up or search through all the posts when everybody has something to say)...out of curiosity, are there going to be any external hard drives that you can use with the mpc?...perhaps a hard drive to plug in usb to the mpc and access through there and then you'd also be able to access the hard drive via usb when you plug it in your computer

when installed correctly, the drive is flush with the chasis. look at page 8 of this thread. there are pics. actually, i think i will move that over to the sticky. but you can still look at page 8

i tried ordering the hdkit and they told me that it will be available around the first week of december?? damn thats pretty long hope it comes out sooner

did you use the number and extension i have on the first page of this thread? it's not commercially available yet, everyone is preordering it now.

There isn't gonig to be support for external drives due to the lack of inputs for them. the usb that's on the mpc is a slave port not a host port. meaning to be able to use any external gear via usb, you would need a port to plug in the flat side of the usb cable. since there isn't one on the mpc, that would not be an option.
