any chance whatsoever that the new os will cost $$$$?

some companies charge for major OS updates like this, either because new hardware is required or they just want to make money off the new features....anybody know if akai is likely to pull this on us for the new 2.0 release?

come on fam... you have to do like everyone else did... if you didn't, you have to read that entire post. this question has been brought up a copule of times and i've answered every question that was brought in there. Akai is not charging for this OS

no, he did have a valid question. other companies will give free updates but when they have a major revision to their program, they will charge for it. case in point, Propellerhead with Reason. every version since 1.0 was a free upgrade (to registered users) but when it came to 3.0, they charged for it. but it's ok.
