Sampling is Sampling. Chopping is just re-arangging sounds making it smaller loops. **** it I do wha sounds good. Orginality is not found in just chopping either.

I only can't stand the Heatmakerz approuch... speeding up a soulsample, looping shit up without using a Chop... To me thats just remixen...

I don't loop because, to me, that doesn't even feel like creating music. It feels more like being a dj. When you chop, you are actually making the music, you're taking sounds, and turning them into an instrument. But, with loops, there's nothing creative going on. Just imagine if someone looped one of your beats and used it in their track--maybe that will put it in better perspective for ya

yes and no..
When you loop, you are totally rearranging a peice. I could take a 4 bar loops and make an entire track out of it, dependin on what I do with the loop. You could filter it, run each bar out of order all types of ish. Srtaight up looping a 4 bar with 4 bars of drums though..not creating anything BUT a loop. You can get very creative with loops mang.

I don't know why but,to this day i dtill haven't just looped a beat.I've had the 2k for over a year now.

Basically I was just saying that you can do a lot of ish with just a loop and not chop, still "creating" For instance..this little snippet below.

only chop phrases where there is one instrument soloed out unless you're going for a chopped sound.

i sample hundreds of solo instrument vinyls and ethnic percussions and stuff...basically zoning a drumbreak is just chopping a drumbreak...i apply the same principle to instruments. you can get as specifically glitchy as you want - or you can make some shit that is a, full of "soul" even though no such thing exists, b, unrecognizeable from the original sample, and c, indistinguishable from the real instrument.

The Golden Rule to Making is Beat is only sample records or have some type of samples with this in mind the equation will sum up to hip hop.

looping is not fun to people with shallow crates, if you got deep gems in your network of crates then looping is heaven. Chopping to me is taking a loop that is familiar it doesnt have to be used just known and diced to your needs to flip your shit. Looping involves 24/7 digging through the crates at thrift stores/ swapmeets/ neightbors garages/ wackos storage places/ auctions at storage facilitys etc. comming home with dust and dirt and the smell of old vinyl with your back aching, fingers soar. blistered up and warts. Then taking the fuc king records and cleaning them one by one placing em on the table and making beats

Looping is a serious trade, im only 18 (was 17 less than a month ago)....i make beats on an sp-202, smoke weed, record it to my 4-track reel to reel (used to have it), and think about music continusly. but what do i know ............Hehehehe;)

what your reffering to as "soul" i believe to be peoples intensions when makign a beat. I can tell that so and so slacked off on the bassline by adding an extra note to fill so he can quickly press it up and make money, i know that. Music is an extention of yourself, you want to present yourself to a crowd and show them you are different and have something to offer, thats why i take this music ish so seriously. My intentions are good and it shows in my music, because i go the long way of making music without a computer screen and it shows people that i dont mind working 2 times harder because it shows that i am dedicated. just a little ranting.

because of this, my girl hates me, i havnt worn new cloths in months, my sneakers have holes in em, i shower 3 times a week, and eat in my room listening to records. Its a sacrafice, if you dont sacrafice something in your life for something else you aint getting nothing back:)
