it may be though that with the 2000xl (and maybe the 2500) that you can only have 256 samples loaded in memory but as everybody has noticed it's not mentioned in the manual.
i forgot about the layering of a pad... so actually my number of 1536 is wrong. i was talking about 1 layer per pad * 16 * 4 * 24 which is illogical...
this is the correct formula:
4 layers per pad * 16 pads = 64 sounds. * 4 banks = 256 sounds per program. * 24 programs now = 6144 sounds.
i don't know. i've never took my mpc to that max. i don't know how it will handle all of that.
