The regular Wav Snd Pgm and Seq work fine right. Has some one tried this?

aaahhhh!!!!! that angers me sooo much!!!! is there any logical reason that akai would do that? why wouldn't they just make the 2500 able to read APS and ALL files?? this sucks. it's my only hindrance. i would buy it immediately if it wasn't for that. suckas....

You are not forced to buy the 2500![]()
For name, simply save your XL programs as files to a standard program file/sample file. Load a few of these up into the 2500, and save as an MPC 2500 project file. With OS 1.00, this is your only option. If that is the only reason (when there are a dozen reasons why the 2500 is a better solution than the XL).......I am speechless for once

I read the file compatability specs the first day they were available from Akai and I read that it only loaded seq, pgm, and snd/wav files, just like most other people here. I think alot of you guys jumped the gun and sold your xl's too soon to get 2500's.
Thanks guinea pigs. This is the price you pay for diving head first into new technology from a company who's last two products (1000 and 4000) are still bug riddled. The software is ver. 1.00 for a reason. If you don't mind not working on music because your drum machine doesn't do what you bought it to do, I guess it's ok. The problem is alot of you guys are complaining, when Akai told you from the start.

macthedoulos wrote: i...like many others really want the 2500i don't understand why you would say the 1000 new OS still sucks and in the same breath you said you really want the 2500..... in terms of software, the only difference between the 2500 and the 1k OS2 is the 1k v2.0 does not have chop shop and grid edit. everything else (as far as software) is identical. ok, the 2.5 has the dedicated number pad 2 extra q-link controllers, 2 extra midi outs and the additional assignable outs and the ability to have a cd. other than that, they are the same machine.
the 1000 has that new OS 2 comin'.....but it still sucks.

so that's a bit of a contridiction.... don't you think?
i know this is off the topic of what you were originally talking about but that 1 comment to me is questionable.
but you are right, they should have made it a litlle easier for cats wanting to transition from the XL to the 2.5k. who knows, maybe in a future OS update, they will add that support.
