Basically My Setup at home is:

HP Computer
Yamaha PSR-275 (MIDI Controller)
Yamaha UX-16 (USB MIDI Interface spefically for the Controller)
Fruityloops 4.
Logic Platinum 5.1
Cubase SX2
Reason 2.5

The main MIDI sequencer used is between reason & cubase.

I'm A Emcee and have been interested in getting a Shuresm58 but in order to use it i'll need to connect it i need a mixer. I Have my eye on a Yamaha MG 12/4.

Now getting to the MPC 1000.

I've been doin some intense research on the MPC1000 and read many posts on this forum and i am interested in getting one as i can use it to program drum patterns and use it as a sampler as well as using it to be making tracks without the use of a computer so i was just wondering if there is any point of purchasing one or i am wasting my time with it?

and if i do purchase it how would i go about connecting it to my pc to use it with MIDI Sequencing Programs? Via the Mixer or by the MIDI IN/MIDI OUT connections Via a MIDI interface to the pc.

I Know this has been asked bare times but i feel i can be guided into the right direction by you MPC1000 Users. Safe

Sagaman.

the best advice i can give you is go to your local guitar center or music store and try one out. it doesnt matter which mpc just get the feel and get the concept of it and see if its for you. try that then come back to me or anyone here and ask as many questions as you want ma'man. piece

You came to the wrong place to ask that question. You don't need it...but it is funner to make beats witrh an MPC over FL. Also, the MPC has a certain feel that Fruity Loops cannot emulate. However, you may find the MPC is more work initially. Go to the store and try one. Make sure the store has sounds loaded on it.

first remember what is it your trying to feel. second, do you want the human feel (realistic) or robotic feel. MPC give's you that human feel ,because it has something for you to bang on, with that tight sequence
pulsating your veins, PC has pristine sounds and perfect sequencing , that
sound so generic. So basically are trying to produce commercial sounding
stuff or real beats from the streets stuff. I have reason 3.0 and I might use
it for somethings, but the MPC is the center of my production, it's industry stand. You can find one in every STudio, check there, and your local store.
And see what the response will be. T" :)

Safe for a response i've been looking for a drum machine, a sampler, and something to use apart from my standard MIDI setup and it sounds great i intend to go to a store and try one out and i dont mind that it is more work, im a determined person.

Yeah man its more of a human feel and i know that this tool is great for producing Hip-Hop so yeah man you mans have influenced me in making my decision and i've seen many posts of people having problems and many responses have been READ THE MANUAL so i dont mind putting it some big reading time but of course i'll have to go to digital village and try it out.

Safe.

whats up man?

yep it does all those things you mentioned here and does them very well, it makes a really nice change to working on a computer with cubase.

you can midi it up to cubase no probs if you wanna use the two together. there are threads in here explaining how.
