Twisted Evil

Dammit!! i left my samples, my newly-acquired hard drive, and my hdm-10 kit in it, how do i go about retrieving them?

Razz

man that would SUUUUUUCK

and is why i wouldn't replace the whole machine unless an emergency, i'm more thinking for parts that are rumored/known to go bad after a while. ie, flash card drive or pads. data wheel too, maybe.

Hypes wrote:why would they put it back out on the shelf if someone said it was defective.?

they wouldnt.

Come on, they so would. I know these people :).

They'd let 10 different people return it, and after that they'd probably just sell it for $50 less as 'open box'.

no not all the pads go out - I have had mine for about a year - maybe a little more

only one pad has an issue - wich is that it is not as sensitive as it once was

still works just as good

no problems really

and it doesent seem like to much work to me -
- if you had a broken pad and you didnt want to send it in then this is an alternative.

when does a person become a corporation? When he goes out and pays to have "inc." on his business card? Howabout a mom and pop music store? Is it cool to steal from them? Howabout when they open a new branch across town? Third branch? Would you try your criminal mastermind pad-swap on some guy's mpc when he's sleeping? What about if he had five mpc's? Ten? A hundred?

Theft destroys wealth, and property rights are one of the greatest institutions mankind has ever come up with. Imagine trying to get anything done in a world where everybody stole everything. The whole thing falls apart.

But yeah, good luck with spending all that time and putting a G on credit (even for a day) and lying and just generally being a schmuck, all to save an expected what--a nickel? less? A nickel, 5 cents. Probability of getting a "bad pad" on a brand new mpc1000 multiplied by the cost of replacing said pad... man, a nickel is probably a massive overestimation, actually. What is it--20 bucks a pad? How many "faulty" pads are you saying you have?

psht forget it, you got the go-ahead from Hypes, and he's obviously got it together (nice paint job :? , berry berry nice)... go ahead, Meyer Lansky, you're making big moves...

Reelaaax.

My understand is we are just talking and having fun here, not eroding the foundations of western capitalist society as you know it :).

He never said he'd steal from a mom and pop store, did he?

C'mon, chill. BTW, check history books and anthropology studies before you go with such statements.
Anyhow, antonym, you should have done the trick before you made it public, now it'll be much more difficult.
Oh, yeah, and it's REALLY immoral.
(Oh and in most case, sampling is illegal. Of course, may the fair use help us) ;-)

naw he said there is no "right or wrong."

I'm straight, let the kid do it. But like guy said above, seems like too much trouble. Myself, of course I'd take a mpc that I found under a rock or whatever, I'm not claiming some fundamentalist high and mighty BS, I guess I'm just saying attrition is involved, and buying a whole machine to take out a pad and return it the next day, that's not worth my time, on top of being obviously wrong... dude put reeeeeaaaaalll shady in the title of his post, he apparently understands that the society in which he's operating will view this as wrong, no matter what his take on it... so yeah, for someone with a thousand dollar machine, it's silly. Silly I say.

maybe his slope is slipperyer. more slippy. less slippy? whatever. This whole covert operation would take me a couple few hours, getting to GC, buying the thing, taking it home, tearing it apart--factor in the possibilities of damaging it in that process--taking my other mpc apart for the swap, now i'm reassembling the things, now i'm sleeping, now i'm driving to the GC again the next day, now i'm lying to some 18 year old kid about some faulty pad (which, whoa, it's got mustard and shit all over it because it's my old one), now the manager is over there, now i'm lying to this guy to prove that i'm for real--i'm a grown ass man, i'm not going to lie about a little faulty pad right?--so he'll offer me store credit or a different mpc, now i'm pretending to be so angry about this faulty pad that i'm turning down a new mpc or store credit, they're bringing in the suits from the front office to allow me to lie some more about how i'm never never ever buying anything Akai or GC ever again, so now hey they bought it now I can drive back home in traffic to my mpc pads that I could've just bought over the phone and had somebody deliver it to me while I was making beats (or writing vapid garbage on the internet beat making forum).
