the 1000 was the first affordable mpc with a multi card reader... and then the ram upgrade... this all made it very powerful! the 2kxl came out later with the mcd and that is a killer unit! i have a 1000, i love it. i can fly thru the settings to make beats fast... and i can chop beats fast as hell. the load/save time is super quick.
that automatically crosses out an old 2000 from my list (zip drives suk anyway).
the 3000 is sick, its older, its lower bits or whatever, and its RL's design! this would be my ideal 2nd mpc!
the 2500 seams to be cool... i almost wish I could trade my 1000 for one, but i need to stick to my purchase and wait for 2.0. 2.0 is going to make every other mpc user cry a little inside. its going to be beautiful! the os i mean...
um, the 4000 is a beast. i would not need one really, and i heard that the os sucks kinda, and that its actually NOT good at sequencing! my friend has one, and he likes my 1000 more? my step brothers dad (pro music producer) has a 4000 for the serious shit! so its ideal for some. maybe not the people who are trying to make grimmey beats with crazy mpc feel. its for the technical shit.
basically, i love my mpc... i will someday just buy another mpc, and add it to the studio. i will then split up the work that they do and make a crazy setup. maybe they will come out with some ultimate mpc, or maybe a new 3000? im waiting for that shit... just like im waiting for a 360.
