New to The Boards

Just bought my mpc 1000 today. Been making beats for quite some time using software ( Reason and Protools ), but I felt like I wanted to switch and start learning the hardware route. Just wanted to say whats up, now its time to go read the manual and start learning it.

hey, afex - if you haven't already, pick up a m-audio UNO midi-usb interface and use your mpc with reason,..utilize reason as a sound module, and even consider picking up a radium 49 or something similar to plug first into your mpc and through that, reason. you will be shocked and delighted with how damn flexible this little trick can be. i love the combination and would never go back, reason is most definitely a permanent part of my music creation process

yo, thanks guys! man, this blue box program is the shit! i already figured out alot about the machine just in 1 day. all these sampler/programs seem to be similar, just a little different way of doing things. the one thing i am absolutley loving on the mpc though is the sequencer, and the fact i can use all my many many years of samples by just using that blue box program is just icing on the cake. definitley need to purchase the RAM though. I read all the recommendations of compatible RAM, just gotta purchase it. That, and I will need a CF Card quick, lol. the 32MB card that comes with it is nowhere near enough.

What's good fam? Welcome to the boards. I'm not going to repeat what everyone else said but pay close attention to what was said. Any and every question you may have about the 1k can and will be answered here. You said you need to get a new CF card but before you do, you may want to check out hard drives. If you do, you need the HDM10 and stay tuned for the coming of OS2.0

watched sparqs video of using mpc1000 with Reason and I am just blown away. Just got my midi controller hooked up, watched the video and a few minutes later I got that shit down. I loved reason b4, but now being able to utilize it as a sound module and record right into the MPC, HOOOLLLYYYYYY SH**********TTTTTTTTT!!!!! hahaha
