how about some of the hacker types that made the 'alternative' os hack 1.07 and increase the ram limitation from 128MB to say a gig or something?

that'd at least be here before christmas.

Why?, what are you sampling or doing where you would need a gig?

hehe my biggest beat is 12 mb

46 mb, but there are tons of superfluous samples that should be deprogrammed and purged

what in the world do you need that much room for?

well for the simple reason that it could be done.

we'd all be sitting around in caves, going: "ug! this is nice!", if it weren't for people pushing the envelope.

i know i know, i should be concentrating on beats, but part of me always wants to tinker.

1 gig. push the envelope? no use in so much ram... i perfer to do songs that are under 10 minutes


wouldnt it be cool if you could push the envelope using 2mbs of memory?? or even 1 mb?????

yeah, it'd be cool. however, i think of different "what ifs" after playing with the sp404.

You are naively assuming that software could circumvent what is certainly hardware limitation (at least what I have read in the developer documentation for that embedded system).

You are naively assuming that software could circumvent what is certainly hardware limitation (at least what I have read in the developer documentation for that embedded system).

have you got the documentation? is it possible you could send them to me? true on the naive assumption, i was high on the 'what if' idea.
