I wrote that I paid about $2300 for my first MPC 2000. I said that is was a base model...but after reading your post, I was most likely mistaken.
Now, you are wrong about the MPC 2000 not supporting options when it was released. The first OS was 1.0. I don't believe you had that OS. Yours most likely shipped with OS 1.03 (or 1.3) and came with the v1.0 manual, and documentation/OS disk about the 1.03/1.3 OS upgrade. This OS upgrade came out immediately before/just after MPC 2000 was shipping world wide.
Actually, OS 1.0 supported the 8 output board but not the effects board, flash rom board, or the SMPTE chip.
No, I can not find a Musicians Friend Catalog that dates back to 1997. Trying to debate this nonsense, had me contacting my first eBay customer to find out what was installed in the MPC I sold him
I was known as jrome-king-of-misawa back then.
You found the right documents/supporting evidence but you couldn't even read them in all the excitement
The 2000 as is more powerful than the 3000. Faster..more memory....better effects....more extensive sample editing...among other things...

At any rate I have supported my original statements about the original cost of the MPC2000 in 1997 as well as the original MPC2000 (v1.0) could not use the options, and you are still just spitting the same old I did, I use to, I had bullsh*t with nothing to support it.
Grow up and move on.

The MPC2000 was never more powerful than the 3000 and Akai never tried to fool or insult peoples intelligence (unlike what you constantly do).
