Sparq brought up a good point in the 1k forum that I always pondered. Why do peeps deem it necessary to split up sounds on each track? I mean when u dump tracks, u assign each sound to its own output which in turn gets its own track on the computer or track recorder. I used to record all my drums on track 1 than move each sound to its own track. I mean the only advantage I can see in having its own track is if u wanted to mute out certain events in real time. But that dont make a difference if your gonna eventually mix down your beat on a hardware or software program. The only time I do split up my tracks is when I got the fantom hooked up. cause on the fantom u cant assign sounds to outs you assign parts to outs and if u have a crash on the same part as a hat then when u dump you dump them both. But even then, If I have sounds Im using on my mpc than I just leave the majority of them on 1 track.
