sorry bro i had a dual 1.25 g4 and it was barely faster than my pentium III 600 mhz. the relevancy is this why would u pay top dollar for old architecture? yeah they are a little faster than years past, but if the g4 is so great then why do we see a g5 and in a few weeks the intel based machines. a g4 powerbook is good if it is $800 but with what they want for it why bother. the industry is moving towards dualcores and 64 bit processors and u r telling duke to buy a ancient technology in computer years. that is mad suspect. any computer can play and record 32 tracks it's when u start to add fx and instruments that u wil run into problems. a g4 aint doing it unless u have protools hd with 3 accel cards, which costs a little more than $450

Pro Tools is not compatible with this computer, I wont give you the rest of the details, caus i've tried everything from updating firmware and drivers, to sending error reports, and restoring the computer numerous times.

It is well know that other chipset that intel could give alot off trouble.
Best way to make sure you MBOX2 would work properly is go with an MB that has an intel chipset. prefer an intel instead going AMD.

I don't say it works only with an intel system sure AMD systems can work fine aswell. But the support with intel and MBOX2 is just alot better

AMD's are performing better than Intels with PT at the moment

if u r talking to me mind then the answer is no. the new intel macs r still 32 bit and won't work with the 64bit os's coming out at the end of this year or early 2007. apple wanted an intel chip now and their new 64 bit chips won't be ready until september, because they r drawing too much power and intel is trying to correct that. my next computer build or buy will be a 64 bit machine probably in 2 or 3 years once that technology is approved for audio. i built my current daw in oct 2003 and it have more power than i need and is super stable. a new machine won't give me any added benefit right now.

With my mbox 2 I keep getting this phuckin -9093 error message that tells me to increase my buffer (been there done that) after that I'll get another error saying i need to turn it down. this comp is in on their list for compatible laptops.

Anyone who what's cracking with this? or is this mbox a piece of 5hit?

I've tried everything possible for the past two days yo.

optimized for audio work? Do you have a lot of extra shiz goin on in the background? If you havent tweaked it for better performance it might help to do so. You also might wanna get some more ram. What are you doin when you get the error, recording or mixing?

do you have the internet running while u are using your MBox, if so, turn off and disable the Wireless and all internet connections from the control panel, in Network Connections, cause this will stop u from running Pro Tools

Nonthing wrong with the network card, u just cant be online and using Pro Tools software at the same time, its not good for the system and will give u that error all day everyday

I usually forget to turn my off when im on the road, cause i use it in hotels, and on the bus, and when we get to soundcheck, and it stops then, i get that same message cause i forgot to disable the Network card, and the Wireless
