Those with OS 2.0

Are your mpc's lagging when it comes to finishing makeing a beat and when its time to export it to MAINOUT it lags when you push [mode] record? i mean like a lag that doesnt enter the record menu for like 20 seconds. When i do it to sample it loads fine but when im done making a quick song it lags when i bring up record menu to transfer it.

Yeah man, I've had that same problem for months. I wish they hurry and fix it in the 2.01 release.

dude, how much did u pay for your mpcbk?

no, i've had lags in 1.07. not 20secs, but sometimes i'll get a a lag of a few secs b4 it'll drop into record or play. only been noticing this recently. my mpc is falling apart these days.

-occasional lagging ^^
-pads unresponsive
-sides coming off (easy fix)
-sometimes the extract/discard decides it doesnt want to work

i like working on an mpc, but i've only had one little over a year and its already having problems. i've looked after it fairly well to, which is putting me off picking up a 2500.

mpc1k is a great tool, im not sure it designed or assembled as well as it should have been tho.

why would you hope it to be a hardware problem?

well whats the processor speed on the mpc anyways? i notice lag when i dont resample and i peak at time more than 32voices,granted they get cut. but ya i dont do this method of playback anymore i resample everything now to cut voices from cutting themselves. i bet the processor is like not even 100mhz

THE MPC1000 IS THE CHEAPEST MPC AVAILABLE

DO YOU REALLY THINK THEY'RE GOING TO STICK A **** QUAD PENTIUM 8 IN THERE WITH 3000 MB OF RAM??

and by the way, the processor is 133 mhz.

you think because its the cheapest in the range that this doesnt matter?



£600 for a piece of hardware isnt cheap. when i spend this kind of money, personally, i want the product to function well (at very least for a fair bit longer than 1 year).

as soon as you buy the "cheapest" of anything, you don't get expectations, you get what you pay for.

and i don't recall akai marketing the mpc 1000 as lag free.

you think its unreasonable that i should expect a £600 drum sampler to function correctly and not to start falling apart after a year.

face it, we're all using a BOTTOM OF THE RANGE PRODUCT, don't expect jesus to come down and speed the **** up.

it was akai's decision to design the 1k as they did, YOU BOUGHT IT.

you havent had lagging, unresponsive pads or the discard/extract stop functioning because you have patience.
