im sorry but my arrogance is letting you get your facts straight by informing you i got 5 mpc's, sp 202-303-404-505-1200, and 2 teac reel to reel recorders one 2 track and other 4-track (and other vintage expensive and hard to find equipment in storage). well you try to up load a beat into a computer OVERclocking in at 400mghz, 65 megs of memory, one 24x speed drive with a linux bootable cd, NO usb, and NO audio card. OHh did i forget i got no case either its just a pile of guts on a piece of wood here in the garage where i stay with the smell of rat ish and asbestos everywhere.

i noticed in step edit mode that when you press the overdub button to add notes it stays on where before it only came on when you held it down.
not sure if thats good or bad yet though.
what is annoying me is if you say change a pad number in step edit the rec light comes on and stays on as well. you have to press it to go off or if you touch a pad it will be entered the sequence

Probably not even worth posting but this OS update was worth every second of the wait, those real time q link sliders are fcking amazing, everything I thought was wrong with this machine has been corrected and more besides..

dudes, stop writing crap here. Now when lamp will close all the new os2 threads we need this one for important info about stuff like the level bug etc.

The level bug seems to occur with pgms made using Bluebox. My pgms that I made using the mpc itself work fine with the new version. Maybe if someone else can check this out as well.

Just installed my HD...40GB of sample storage... and playing with the filters...OMFG, filter + pitch on realtime and fed through the delay

This approach is incredibly unpractical. What we need is one (short) thread per problem/issue with a clearly stated thread title identifying a problem/issue (e.g. system reset with new OS, pads level up to 100 etc.). Not a massive (soon to become too long) thread where nobody can eventually find any useful information amidst the high amount of blabber this forum inevitably generates.
I must say that of all forums I've been on, this one (MPC1000) is the less practical of all when you need to find answers to technical questions.
But if this is the way mods like it...

hey guys, just wanna share my experience.

I upgraded from 1.06 without problems (you dont need 1.07 afaik)

thing is the LCD contrast was really low when it booted the new os...
I thought, weird, but a quick look at the manual settled it

p.88: "Adjusting the contrast of LCD
You can adjust the contrast of the LCD display by turning the DATA wheel with holding [SHIFT] key. Adjusting the contrast of LCD can be done in any page."

so maybe you people with this kinda problem can try that, just to make sure the contrast isnt turned all the way down for some odd reason
