hi, i d like to have some tips from you, how do you record your other midi equipment like synth, drummachines.....
i have a mpc1k and 4 synth, and a emu sampler. i d like to sample the synthparts, but the mpc has no miditrigger record function. i dont have a problem at loops (i.e. bass) that starts from beat 1 to 4... my problem is, how do i record a loop, that is i.e. 1 bar long, but starts in the 2nd beat, i.e. snare track only on 2 and 4.

Though I was wary of it at first the threshold record thing in the record screen is pretty accurate. Otherwise just record a bit of silence first and then trim it manually.

@soyo: man, of course i know that i could it slice manually, but i think, its a unconfortable way... it works for 1 or 2 bars, but i have much miditracks from synth and other gears..... thats why i asked for tips where it goes faster....

it's aaaaaall about solving those itchy problems that makes the producer skill is'nt it? 8)
id slice the loop if it's off bar... or rather i avoid loops in the firstplace

well in some situations, you can just allow your sample to start on eg. beat 2.

then when you insert it in your sequence just trigger it on beat 2.

but I know that isn't always the best way.
