Yo, just came from GC and hooked a midi cable up to my V-Synth XT from their 2500 digitally. I recorded Coaxially into the main screen and i accepted the midi event into a blank program to play it back and WHHHATT!!??? A gap in the front!

How do you get the sample to START when you press play cause my recording always played back about a half a bar later from when i pressed the play start button?

OK not tryn to fight just tryin to say you cannot trim MIDI in the trim screen. Yo Ive owned and sold plenty of mpz and installed expansions in 4000z blah blah mpc scientist. All im sayin is Ive read tha book I had a 1k b4 you knew what it was. No disrespect. You are here to teach im here to learn. So dont teach me mpc1000 when im asking you about a function advertised to phase out 1.sampling then 2.trim in the 2500! I can SAMPLE not RECORD in the 1000 and trim then place my own sample on a pad then put it in the start of the sequence.

1.record a midi performance with input thru monitoring an external synth
2.press play start to see it tightly starting at the beginning
3.looks like i might be getting that huge DELL WITH PADS called the mv8000 cause it will start recording its inputs at the beginning like pro tools and name it a track not a sample---but correct me if im wrong.....cant the 2500 do that in the form of DIRECT RECORDING? minus the auto-naming.

sounds like u just wanna record a midi performance from an external synth, I've never had the problem ur talking about when using my proteus 2000 or my triton

I dont think u quite understand the direct recording feature, and since ur so rude I'll let u soak up the manual which is pretty easy to comprehend

I'm gonna leave it up to a REAL mpc head to figure out what he's doing wrong since he seems to know exactly what he's doing

the mpc is pretty simple, go and get the mv-8000 then u'll really be lost, u really sound like an MPC head saying that

by the way I had a 2000xl before the 1000 existed so whats ur point?

installing ram and other internal expansions is a simple process and takes 10 min. at most on any mpc and that doesnt mean u can use the machines functions correctly, this is a good example of that

what you tried was not Direct Recording. if you want to do direct recording to a track, you have to connect the audio out from the v-synth to the 2500's record in. that way, you are not recording midi.

before you start getting on someone, please read the manual. (you can download it if you don't already have one) find out what the feature is and how to use it before you start talking about "1k users" if you did everything right and it still didn't work, then you will have a leg to stand on when coming at people.

i'm not trying to get at you in a bad way, i'm just saying....

1. I dont think u quite understand the direct recording feature, and since ur so rude......

1. YOU dont understand the direct recording feature because if you did you wouldve answered my question and been like NEXT!.... buuuuuut!......

2. Rude is jackin mine and every other post tryin to help then getting upset when a mpcer like myself corrects you to explain Im looking to learn NEXT LEVEL features which people like you think akai is doin the same ol tricks.... "direct recording feature" is brand NEW and you cant even answer a ol school easy one! on King_Vitamin's post:

He asked:

What's this No.1 program???

Fist Full of Dollaz:

I THINK!!!??? its used for midi tracks to search through patches if u have external modules hooked up

Obviously you never owned a 2000xl, a 4000, an MV8000, a keyboard hooked to a mpc like you supposed to!!!

That! is why im heated cause you filled my thread full of "Yo, umm go to the trim screen when somebody thats usin their 2500 to multi-track may see all this clutter an not respond to my REAL question!

I could honestly tutor you on that 2500 bra and all I did was read tha book!! I OWNED tha 1k. rocketed.

But you dont no nuntin bout that! you might as well get a 1000 if you cant freak tha nu nu!!

NEEEEXXT!!
