In order to reduce the chance of a scam and to find out if a seller actually owns a 1K, I wonder what kind of questions (with the answers) could I ask them that only a real MPC owner would know? BTW...just in case they are reading this could you PM me with your responce...any help would be much appreciated.

I got mine e bay, when i got mine, i was kinda worried that it wasnt going to come, because about 2 months ago, my friend got a broken 2000, with no buttons,it was only the pads it had. But i got my 1000, very very new as it was posted, so i was happy, but anyways, check under the listing is the right category, check em out this are all listin that are up right now, this is a fake onehttp://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-AKAI-M ... dZViewItem , u see the listing is under Home Garden,Lamps,Exterior,Light Fixture, lol thats some fake chit right there. This one is all truffhttp://cgi.ebay.com/AKAI-MPC-1000- ... dZViewItem, its listed under the musical instrument catergory,

oh yeah what i would do also, i would have more trust if they had a self-taken pic of the mpc. well thats all know make sure you ask questions like

how old is the mpc?
do all the buttons work?
how is the screen?
how are the pads?

Irrelevant.

Thanks for the tips valentin and wales. I was more lookin for ie. something really specific like what a certain screen says if you push a button or somethin like that but it's all good.

I would ask him to send you some extra pictures, like if there are none of the back ask him to send you some. If the pictures dont match up with the ones he previosluy posted (ie. the backround is different) He probably took the first pics off someone elses add. If they have a good rep your fairly safe, if something really small like a button isnt working and he hasnt mentioned it you have comeback on it. I bought mine off ebay no problem, all came in the post in its box and couldnt be working better, the guy even filled the memory card with whatever sounds i wanted.

i asked that question because if you are willing to spend, don't even bother with ebay if you are worried about a scam. just buy new

buy it new dont buy it from ebay. if you want to get one from ebay your going to have to stress over payment, time, order recieved and all that junk. if you want to make beats and you want to make sacrafices go for new. you gotta give up something in order to recieve.

Thanks :) Nice avatar!

On topic: I bought mine from ebay, no stress at all. Payed 760 $ (included shipping) for a mint condition, 6 months old MPC 1000 with 128 mb ram and 5 cf cards (512 mb + 256 mb + 128 mb + 128 mb + 32 mb). But check the seller's rating before bidding. I had no trouble at all buying from ebay, but I understand that some might see ebay as a shady place to buy your mpc.
