Longest you've ever left your 1k on?

(Making a clone topic from the 4k forum, could not find any here)

Just want to know, what is the longest time you have had your 1k turned on?
I dont like to have it on for more that 4 hours man. Shίt gets to damn hot.

Im worrying the circuts gonna fry and since I dont have any insurance on it im not gonna risk trying..

one time i worked on that **** for 10hrs til i straight up passed out and i was out for about 7hrs so 17hrs i think is the longest i left it on. it was warm and the contrast was dark but i think thats normal. i usually just cut it on for 3-6hr sessions but it depends.

u can leave it on for days.

more damage gets done to the circuits when u turn it off and on...

oh man, and i though leaving it on for 4 hrs was bad..lol, thanx guys, i feel a hellavalot better not...of course not at your expense..hehe..but ur right homie, it gets SOOO hot quick...

ahh man, i juss got the 1k about 1 month ago, and well, bein a newb to it i have done quite a bit of turning off and on....i got it on a 0% financing term for 12 months, so yall think i should return it tommorrow and just grabb a new one??

I left mine on for about 4 days in a row with no issues


but do not cover it up when leaving it on
I had an issue one time where I left it on over night with a towel covering it up and I came back and the screen was all fukked up
I turned it off for ten minutes and it was fine

about 4 days

I've noticed that the screen gets darker when u leave it on for too long.

I usually spend all say saturday making beats, so i'd say 10 hrs!

why would u return it, what do u think it breaks in 3 seconds?:o if it breaks that quickly...then the mpc1000 is truely a piece of shit...


also remember, while it might expensive for ya, it'ss a **** CHEAP ass drum machine...

I bought mine to bring out and not really care if it breaks...can't do that with a 909, or an 808... those i care if they break:-), mpc1000...meh:-D I do but i don't.

due to it's kinda cheap nature, insurance is useless, what u gunna waste 30 hours trying to get insurance back wait 5 months to get it? spend money on insurance? not worth it...


but yo NEVER cover your MPC when it's on EVER, that's the worst thing u can do, that *will* kill it, if it it can't get proper ventillation it'll overheat like a computer and its board will burn...

but just don't baby your gear, it's there to be used not to be looked at, or tell people that u have it. there's no braggin rights to a 1000:o

come to think of it, laptops get really hot too and they normally dont fry because of that... But im gonna be careful anyways

It shouldn't be a problem unless you get a power surge or something, or its not ventilated, although as most electrical components/parts have a theoretical life span (ie the screen), would be best to turn it of when not in use to prolong the life.

A good thing would be to buy a surge protector/mains cleaner for your set up.

i disagree...give me reason to believe that it's a cheap drum machine and i'll change my mind.

however, i've taken my mpc apart and put it back together. the thing is no joke.

cuz, well almost every drum machine out there is more money? or was when it came out?:-)

the reason why the mpc 1000 rox is cuz it's cheap:-)

the electribes don't count, they're pos:-) cept the esx is prettty neato, but that shits' cheap as ****:-)

I cover my 1k up afer use most of the time to prevent dust buildup


one time I threw it on there without turning off the 1k

the screen went all dark
