It's important everyone responds though, maybe this way we might get at least one reply. We need to go in as a group so that we've got a bit more clout, instead of just clogging up Akai's inbox.

Hi, I wish to report a number of bugs that i have found with the OS 1.1 released recently.

1. Midi bug - I have my MPC hooked up to Reason 2.5 but i cannot record more than the 64 midi notes provided by the MPC in a sequence. For example, if i am playing a low bass line or a high melody, it will play fine but will not record into my sequence. This is a major drawback and a bigger headache than simply not having 2 of the midi outs working. I can enter the notes manually in step edit, but as you may guess this is a rather tedious process.

2. Saving bug - On a number of occasions, the MPC has crashed when saving and creating a new folder on an internal hard drive for the files to go into. This has resulted in a loss of all work previously carried out on the machine. This is an intermittent problem, i cannot re-create it at will but it does happen on a number of occasions.

3. Loss of sound - When transferring files via USB, after disconnecting the MPC from the PC with the 'Safely Remove Hardware' command and going back into the main page of the MPC, there is no sound playing pack from the sequences or the pads.
If i turn the MPC off then back on, sound is restored. This is an internittent problem, i cannot re-create it at will but it does happen on a number of occasions.

4. Wrong file error - When resaving a program with a new sound, if i come to load the program at a later date i get 'wrong file error' The program cannot be deleted from the hard drive or CF card in the MPC or via USB. Intermittent

5. White noise - Upon loading a sequence, i hit play and all i get is what can only be descrived as 'white noise'. If i power the MPC off and then back on it is fine.

The 2500 is a great machine but these bugs are seriously affecting the workflow of the unit and are causing a numbe rof headaches for myself and other users.

Cool will ad that in. I think it would be a good idea for anyone that hasn't emailed Akai to alse send a similar mail to them, power in numbers and all that

... finished 3 sequences, perfect exactly how I wanted them. was about to save them in 3 different places and was thinking"must be careful I dont want the files to be lost" then it crashed when I pressed save. ARGH for **** sake

yes the workflow is smooth and quick, that just gets me excited and into my song, then it fs up when i save the shit i swear my mpc hates me, its happened twice. on my favourite two songs.

Because it has happened so often I now save what Im working in every few minutes and make sure to back it up in several places.

6. Random pops and clicks from BOTH digital and analogue outputs. Not severe but enough to taint a recording.

We need a petition, get everyone to put their name and serial code on it, and contact email, and send one email with everyones details etc, so they see we are all supporting the partition to get the god damn akai developers to pull their finger out n release an update,,,, AGAIN!

Happens too often for reasons mostly unknown.

the lines that indicates the bars in grid edit disappear once in awhile. it usually happens when playing the track over. not a huge problem but if they gonna put together a new OS i expect it to be perfect...

Good Idea sent out another . Hope this gets some response.

add the simult feature .........I v been trying for a while to get them to add this to the os because it is on every other os that akai has put out ...or filters for each layer....I know its not a bug but its really important I see this feature on the new os....with this and the other bugs mentioned above this will make a perfect machien to work with

And dont forget autochromatic.

my sliders dont work the same after i updated before they where on point know sometimes they work and then dont anyone else have this problem?

If the play mode of a sample is set to "NOTE ON" the tap tempo button does not function.

Only if the play mode of a sample is set to "ONE SHOT" then the tap tempo feature can be useful to help determine tempos.

When re-naming tracks or samples it would be less stress on the buttons if by holding down the SHIFT + left arrow (delete) or SHIFT + right arrow (space) the cursor could slide back & forth.

Presently one must click many times in order to wipe a long track or sample name.

I'm certain akai welcomes wear & tear on their buttons...
keeps the repair dept. busy.
