How is the MPC-1000 for eqing Drums???

Does the internal mixer give you nice drum equing capabilities??? Bless...

it's no mixer or software eq plugin.

i never use it for that. the mpc is for sequencing, not really as an effects box.

yeah but eq-ing like this is a pain in the ass.
EQ on the main mixer(like PAN for ex.) would be a nice feature for next OS.

yeah, but not really through Eq.
It can filter each sound in various ways, envelope, effect, but weak on eq...

you would only be able to 2 drum sounds with the 2 effects then you would have to the main out to free up the effects procesor for other task, its best just to take advantge out the 6 outs and run the drums thought a dedicated mixer. I use the mixer on my HD recorder for EQing drums works like a champ.

again, this thing is a sequencer - it's best to bring your drums in preq'ed (destructive) or simply WAIT. at the point of the mpc, you're only dealing with midi notes. get your drums/samples CLOSE to the way you want em to sound, but worry aobut final touches later when you track your beats out.

The MPC EQs work fine. When editing sounds I will use the filters, EQ, compression, and other effects if I feel it needs it. Then I resample so I can use that effect bus for something else.

I love the EQ and i think it sounds great and is really responsive

True. Then we wouldn't have to keep resampling just to use the effect on another sample.

Yeah, 4-Band EQ is sick. You can sweep the frequency for the low, low-mid, high-mid, and high. That gives you so much more control then the standard 3-band EQ that you see on practically every mixer.

Smart right there, I used to do that on the ASR10.

i use the 1ks eq on every beat
