So people listening to music sit there and say....
Ahh hell nah, he used a MPC1000 not an MPC3000?....No.
Only gearheads say things like that. Yes, I am one too!
My 3000 sounds better and feels better to ME than the 2000XL. However, when I play, say Kev Browns new album(he made on an MPC2000XL), that argument goes out the window. That albums beats is tight, tight, tight! He made it sound good, not the 2000XL.
I heard Antonyms(from this forum) demo not too long ago. I think he said he used an MPC1000, SP404 for fx, & Reasons NNXT for bass. That track sounded good. Things like that prove my point. Forget which piece of gear you have & just make music. The rest will follow.
Not everyone uses computers, but alot of guys getting into MPCs now do.
I still think I'd use any MPC just fine. Gear is important, but not the most.
You are right though, it just sounds different sometimes!
