(Medway, enjoyed hearing you play records the other night in columbia sc.) The timing on the mpc is garbage. Ebay that puppy. Pick up an emu command station if you want a solid hardware sequencer, an rs7000 if you need a built in sampler.
my1k- timing makes for big problems at the mixdown stage. flamming transients, phasing, etc.
Antonym, stfu. If you knew anything about house music you would think "hey this is medway, the producer." He's not about to give you any of the components of his tunes seeing as it belongs to the label he is signed to. And incidently, your stuff is very dense- if by dense you mean poorly mixed and muddled.
Threads like this make me sad for Akai as a company, this board, and jokers that think the mpc1000 is the last word in music production.
Whats ure F**kin problem...
If Medway is serious about the timing of his work, he shouldnt have purchased the 1k in the first place. The CPU in that machine is fairly weak IMO. It gets the job done though, and some get great results.
The 4000 is next level, its Intel CPU makes the seqeuncer move a little faster and its timing is superlative...period.
I have no issues with the sound from any of the mpcs, as i work around that and never really use an mpc for its sound.
BTW i would never touch an EMU, have no respect for them...they are nothing but a cheap consumer brand now.
And whos saying the MPC 1000 is the last word in music production???
SO, i think its best that U now STFU and go back to your little Creative / Emu world.
