I have an triton classic for 4 years, never 1 problem.
Got an extreme (2 years now), never 1 problem with it.

That is one thing that stopped me from getting a 4k and 2500.
I want one or the other but I'm not droppin that loot and it's not a functioning machine. Too much money to have those worries right from the gate.

I understand not ALL the machines are buggy but seems to be a great ratio of problems in new machines.

Most of the bugs up until the system test error were mostly harmless and didn't really effect your work flow once you knew how to avoid them. Alot of people on here are upset that they spent money on a new machine and that it isn't working perfectly out of the box. They have every right to be. But it's not near as bad as these forums make it seem to be. The only problems I've had from mine were the not recording of midi notes past the set notes assigned to the pads (there was a work around were you could record them in step edit). And my machine locked up on me once while I was saving a project. Im on my 2500 every day either making new tracks or listening to my created ones seeing how they sound and have only had the 2 problems I've listed. I guess the people who aren't having problems are to busy making tracks to post

while I do agree that there should be a place to post about bugs I have to agree with Phocus that this forum is going to s.h.i.t with new users repeatedly posting the same bugs half of which are probably user error. It's a mess. If we were to keep it clean there would be a better chance of akai seeing what the real problems are and fixing them.

Ignoring the name calling, I think it is the status quo of musical instrument manufacturers to release buggy products. From the mpc2000, ms2000, Virus C series, Elektron Machinedrum, to the mpc2500; I bought them all and all had bugs when they came out. Even PCs have been buggy and continue to be, people still buy em. Letting the consumers beta test saves money.

Dont ya ever do firmware upates on your classic or extreme ?

Errrr, just cuz bugs in triton may be not as much noticable as they are in akai doesn't mean it's completely flawless. You think OS updates for triton or any other piece of equipment are only to add new features? or maybe patch up the bugs they discovewred along the way ?

I got no problems with my mpc 2500 running latest OS, in fact I had a problem when picked up mpc1k month ago. Also I own a motif es, when first bought it had OS version 1.6 installed, board is running good ever since, no problems whatsoever and still running 1.6. Just recently(few months ago) yamaha released OS 1.7. It did not add no new features but patched bugs that I didn't even realized existed cuz I never encoutered any of them.

I've done EVERY update that ever came out on the Korg website for both machines (Classic and Extreme) and have NEVER had ANY problems with any function I tried. I went through the upgraded functions to see what they were and they worked exactly like it was supposed to and what I read about those upgrades/changes.

It amazes me that it all worked quite well like that.

I see your point, with unseen bugs but I've tried to use EVER function in my triton, I got through as many screens and options as I can cause maybe one day I will want to fully use them in a song ya know. But I've never run across any problems.

DISCLAIMER: I adore the 2500 hardware but thorougly disappointed in the software revisions as of yet.

If akai REALLY read these threads theyda got sh!t right a loooooong time ago.

They're slow as molasses....& 1 step above retardation.

zero props to akai for not researching & beta testing thoroughly.
(not a complaint but a fact).

You seem to have no idea how labor-intensive it is to develop a software for such a piece of hardware. It is not possible to wait and beta-test until even the slightest bug is ironed out, cause then Akai would be outrun by the competitors.

To speak of Akai techs as "retarded" is simply disrespectful.

But who said that they didnt? :?
Or who said that any kind of rep for Akai dosnt read this thread? :?
Or who said that a Akai rep is not a member of this forum? :?

I cant believe that you would ass-u-me that at all
Why? Not because I have faith in Akai but because I read just about all these threads and happen to know that info do get to Akai from these forums. Just because they arent acting as fast as we would like does not mean that at all. Then as soon as they fix whatever bug you have a problem with....... ooooh GLORY,GLORY AKAI YOUR THE BEST.

And yes Stilo your right along with the every day politics on having a job like that IT IS NOT EASY. To explain it would be a waste of time.

Yes I understand there are other companies out there that dont put out buggy machines now that is a hands down fact but even those companies are not 100% even they are not perfect. We are all human and do the best with what we got at that point in time.

If you dont know the trend this is how it goes.

1. Akai creates machine
2. Machine have bugs
3. Akai fixes and update
4. Machine finally complete whenever the last update and fix is created

Get over it. It is the HISTORY of Akai and they still gives us the BEST sampling drum machines ever. The bandwagon is full of cats that complain. Report bugs or dont participate is your option but dont knock someone else for doing so because if they did not .......well I wont get into that but lets just say it does pay off.

Now take that how you want it.
