this is a translation of what's causing a 10 page thread over in the 1k forums.
i have installed this 3rd party os and i'm astounded. essentially, it gives the 1k all of the power of the 2500 minus the extra hardware. it has less bugs than the akai os, too. new folder bug is gone, as well as other issues.
this is amazing. the beta is free, the full version is gonna be about 20 bucks.
not a bad price to turn your 700 dollar machine into one that equals a 1600 dollar machine.
it's given us grid edit, direct recording, and a bunch of other really nice features including a way to change the tune/volume/etc of all pads on a pgm at one time. this is absolutely incredible.
hopefully, you guys are next on the gift list. the guy obviously knows his stuff. if he can adapt this 1000 os 3.0 onto the 2500, we will essentially have the same machine - only difference will be your extra hardware. which will still prove useful.
this japanese jenius may very well be your personal jesus. give him time and he may well save you all from the buggy os akai has released.
just thought i'd let you know - salvation may very well be at hand.[/quote]
