my wishes:

_ setting the swing while the mpc is playing (in a similar way we can change the TC)

_ saving swing setting per sequence (when saving the sequence)

_ amp envellope and filter per layer

Nice ideas... but for me, saving the swing per sequence would not be as useful as if there were a way to save each track's swing setting, since I usually dont swing every sound in a sequence the same way.

not sure if i have been clear. in fact i use different swing settings in one sequence. the sequence would just remember the last swing setting used for this sequence.
would be useful when playing live (when adding extra rythmics on top of what was already recorded).

but in fact it is changing the swing in realtime which would be the real killer (no need to stop the mpc).

btw what do you guys think of the shift + note repeat function (held) ?
i thouhgt it would also do an auto quantize, but in fact most of the hits do not play (if they don't fall right on the quantize). i wonder how does the mpc2000 behaves with that ?

finally, i thought would be good to have a way to tap stuff without it being heard (when the track is muted maybe). might sound odd at first, but could be really usefull in live situation, when some stuff would sound too sloppy being played by hand (for instance the hihats off beat in techno at fast tempo)

oh, and last one, but not the least!

i know the mpc2000 can play two sequences at the same time (in realtime).

this would be amazing, to be able to mix 2 sequence in realtime (with a way to switch from one seq to another in order to mute or unmute tracks).

IS when you chop a sample using slice... it keeps the sound quality how it originaly is on the chops. Whats with the poor sound when you slice.... i still cant believe thats just how it is.

Anyone else noticed this problem and know if its the same on any other mpc's
of only used the 1000

sample selection (program mode, trim mode, load mode etc...)
_ select a sample
wish: [shift] + [jog wheel] -> scroll samples 10 by 10.

that would be cool to have when playing live, so you dont have to bring out any external effects racks.

tank wrote:The objective of this thread is to get feedback from mpc1000 users about the features they miss most. This would help developers (Akai and/or those developing inpedendent operating systems) to decide wich features to give priority in the development process. (Note: features already implemented in OS version 3.x don't need to be included in this list).
I will keep the list updated and I'll try to have it in order (from most wanted to less).

- MTC & MMC (as in mpc2500 os 1.2)
- Auto-chromatic programs: assign a sample to all pads with chromatic midi notes and tune (as in mpc2500 os 1.2)
- Recordable track mutes (as in mpc2500 os 1.2)
- More settings in Mode 11: LFO, envelope, mutes, etc.
- Preview sounds from disk (in load mode) while playing a sequence
- Show note duration in grid edit (with visual bars)
- Screensaver
- Individual filters per pad layer (if possible to keep sample acurate)
- Individual envelopes per pad layer (if possible to keep sample acurate)
- Trim mode > Edit: insert sound (like in older mpc's)
- Grid mode: show bar/step info
- Full ADSR envelopes support
- Qlink sliders send cc messages through midi in realtime and record them
- Swing shift timming: ability to choose elarlier or later (like in older mpc's)
- Real-time modulation of loop points (with a MIDIvalue, LFO or ENV)
- Tap tempo: tap averaging up to 8, 12 or 16
- Ability to move/rearrange regions in chop mode

I will keep updating this list based on the feedback. Wich features to you miss most?

no need to be sarcastic there. i am not claiming to be a 2k guru.
isn't it what the "2nd sequence" feature is doing on the 2k ?

also, as you seem to know the 2k maybe you can input on my other question ?

Somebody suggested that already:

-Play more than one sequence at time.

Bring back SIMULT! That would be so dope.

Bring back SHIFT in the timing correct window.

By the way, I'm not trying to spam all these threads with the same replies, maybe we could get a dedicated thread for feature requests? Mods?

Anyways I'm about to sell my 1000 off and go back to a 2000 if I can't get SIMULT, hence the enthusiasm. Sick of having to match up unquantised hits, it's really getting tiring and detracting from the fun of making beats for me.

Peace!
