I just want to make it clear and be really sure.

Has anyone here ever gotten the new-folder bug or direcory error with JJs OS?

Is it safe to overwrite?

I need to know cause im still nervous while im saving.

and less dramatic: save and replace the autoload is slow compared to previous os.

yo shukone! the best thing to do is to. save all your data on your hd to your pc (except for the corrupted data) then reformat your hd. then put all the "safe" data back on the hd. sorry about those beats dog :( i went thru the same thing... and when you decide to get the new os 1.0. i suggest that you repeat that process with reformating before making any beats. better to be safe than sorry. i hope that this helps.

thanks for your answer, this would be the best thing to do. i currently create a bunch of folders by mounting the drive to my pc, and then save stuff in there. when 1.0 releases, i gonna reformat the hd...

That happened to me once... here's what you should do:

The pc might say certain files or directories are corrupted, but the MPC can probably still load those projects.

So for the ones that are supposedly corrupted, load up the project on the MPC, then re-save the entire project it to a new directory. Then you should be able to copy that new version to the PC. This worked for me when I had that problem.... a couple of times I had to resave it 2 or 3 times before it finally worked.

Is it the IPT file? I usually get problems with one of those now and then, messed around like TBouns at first but lately I just skip those files as I copy since I never use input thru.

thanks for your replies. mostly the project files are damaged, but like you said, the mpc can read them...

nah this isn't the new os, this problem happened before.

create your folders PRE work, like at the bginnnig of your session.
when saving over old material, what i've found works is deleting the all file, the seq and song file, and the proj file - basically the top 3. then save entire mem, overwriting. never a dir. error for me!

i know that this error was widely spread, but it never occured to me. but all version below 3.05 worked perfect, no error at all. but since 3.05 this ish ocurrs...
i can't create any folders at all, only if i'm using my pc for it!!!! man, this is real **** up...

yeah that sucks. try backing up your drive and formatting it, then try again.
