Indeed. Why keep all your stock in japan when most of your clients are based in the US ? or Europe ? : This does not necessarily mean we buy them on ebay. Ebay is ten years old now. We are older than that. We used to sell Yamaha 02r at very discounted prices when ebay was still in the Beanies biz. We were buying on the existing market before the internet took off commercially (no emails, but faxes, telephone calls, visiting sellers etc etc)
The market was partly changed by ebay, and not always for the best. I think it is difficult to buy anything not new online. People have various expectations, sometimes you satisfy them, sometimes not. Personally I like to test what I buy, and visiting the seller tells you a lot about the way he has been treating the piece of gear you are about to buy. And this is why Japan is a great place to buy used gear (Decho Jahrome San ?) because these guys are so anal about their machines that you don't need to pay them a visit.

Sir,

We make a point to reply to EVERY mail we receive. However, if your mail has been filtered for some reason, or does not include a subject, (yes, a lot of people still do send mails with no subject, no name etc: these mails go to the bin automatically), then we obviously did not reply to it. Calling Japan: We are a small company (3 employees) , dealing with Japan also, as you may guess: time consuming. We cannot afford to hire one person dedicated to overseas phone calls. If we have 2 clients in the shop, we are unlikely to pick up the phone. We have to draw the line somewhere and clients in front of our noses have priority. I guess that makes sense ? if you call with your ID set, we'll call you back. If your ID is unset ....
You read a lot of bad things on the net, but as mentionned before in this forum, no one comes with names, mail addresses, serial numbers. Nothing. If the competition is pissed about us because our products are superior, then a smear campaign like this is very easy to orchestrate.
Late on delivery: yes, we are not especially fast. Depending on weight / size / destination. If you want it yesterday, please buy local. This does not mean that we steal lmoney or send damaged goods. As of today, after more than 10 years in this business. we have THREE clients who got damaged items: One Roland vs2480 to Germany a year ago: plastic cracked on the top right corner, probably during custom inspection, as we OVERPACK, just to make sure.(we now mail pictures of packing time, so you know how much packing material you will have to get rid off ...try to re-use it, we have only one planet and it is not flat by the way ...) One KORG MS-20, badly packed by our staff SEVEN years ago. One plastic side was smashed. Shipped a new one to the client. Staff left after the incident. Probably got tired of my complaints ...(I am a ****, I like to get the job done ). A VL1 breath controller got crushed two weeks ago. We are still waiting for client to send it back so we can replace it with a new one. I don't think this is a bad record in view of the number of items shipped over the years.

We have a lot of very pleased clients who come back for more. Too bad they don't have time, or the inclination to go on forums. References available if you need.

Why don't you check that ultraman6996 feedback on Ebay? Apart from a few psychos who wanted to pay with vintage gold coins - used cars - wife etc and went Feedback Crazy when we declined their offers, I don 't see anybody who would not buy again from us.

My best regards.

I saw your feedback at ebay but there's a few bad comment about your compagnie...you know the feedback give maybe a wrong picture of analogjapan but in the same time it deals with something real...so you have to understand the reason why a lot of people don't trust you.
why did you decide to close your account on ebay?
kindest regard.

a lot ? cmon 10 negativ feedback for more than an hundred positiv.

i've a friend who have bought an mpc 3000 from analog japan few years ago.

the product was exactly as describ in their website. no jokes, no swindles.

why his ebay account has been closed, 've been already answered by analogjapan. Ebay has been overexceed with his success, and now there is too much scammers at this time. that'is bad, cause the idea was brilliant.

there is nothing to be worried about, even if your are paranoid, analogjapan accepts escrow services. SO in all CASE the buyers can be refund if there is something wrong.

plus analogjpan accept bank transfer, wich is probably the most secure way to transfer money , and be sur that the payement has been made.
You can even go to tokyo to meet them if needed.

too bad analogjapan doesnt have any trustable distributor here across europe or usa.

As for the price, at least for France, they are not that expensiv, just take a look at all the french ads you can find in audio forums. for sure they are 5-10% more expensiv but include shipping to anywhere most of time.
they can be aligned on local price for those specific reasons.

but analogjapan is registred compagny, so if you have any prob with it, you could still use actions at law, and get your problem solved. but most of time a elegant, and pleasant email suffice to resolves such problems.

with care,
chil'

The gear looks good on their website and the guy sounds like an honest business man especially giving valid responses to all the questions. He doesn't sound like a scammer. I would purchase from them. Nobody here has first hand account of bad dealings with them.

We stopped using ebay due to

A: their listing fees (outrageous ...)

B: Selling fees: way too high.

C: Non-stop commercial harassment for various products that nobody needs.

D: Inexistent support for sellers like us. (ebay refused to deal with people who lift our pictures and use them on their auctions). Imagine yourself as a potential buyer, starring at a great mpc on someone's auction and opening a box a few days later with an old piece of crap inside after paying top $ ...
ebay told us it s an issue that they will address sometime. It's been like this for 10 years now. Some guy right now is selling mpc3000 samples with our pictures in his auctions. at least he could have asked ...

E: a LOT of potential buyers on ebay are time wasters. We don't have time to read and answer the usual " Ill give you 500 bucks for it mmmmkaaaayyy ?" and that's an easy one.
Then you have " why don't you reply to my offer you bastard !"
We have serious clients out of ebay, foreign or japanese and they have to be taken care of.

F: We had people bidding without permission, (one of our requisite in our auction text at the time), insisting to pick up in L.A when it suits them (my partner there is a busy man). This sort of buyer feedback negatively when we refuse to be paid in used cars, gold coins etc.

More on the feedback thing: ask any pro ebay seller like a guy with thousands of feedbacks. He'll tell you that only one third of satisfied buyers do place a feedback. The others 2/3 rd don't bother. Then you have the bad ones (pissed off clients ALWAYS feedback). So all in all, you do the maths, we have a pretty good record.

ALL ????'S WELCOME !!!

Great choice, unfortunately, we are sold out on this one right now. Looks like japan is getting hot on this one right now.

Please note: our prices vary, usually not on the way down, I admit that. Example: KORG MS-20, nice little analog synth: the price here is a bit like the stockmarket: 5 years ago: us$ 1200 in tokyo, then you could get them very cheap, until 4 months ago, when they are back to sky high prices. So please bear in mind that WE do not control the market, the market controls us ....(tears)

The SP-1200 is great. Too bad they stopped making it. We got a re-issue right now in top shape. (we sold it to the client 8 years ago, new, direct from EMU US, and he sold us his studio a few weeks back. Pictures on request ...

Noticed how manufacturers dump production on good stuff and market us things that nobody want ?. Same for Akai and their myriad "mpc"'s that sound like any other sampler.

Rant Over.

Absolutely. Bear in mind that we use www.escrow.com only . Not that we have any shares in their stock... but there are a few scam Escrow these days. So make sure you log on the real thing. Also using an escrow service is not the fastest way, but then, better safe than sorry

We used to have a seller in europe a few years back. Our profit margins are not that great (or are we just Capitalist Pigs doing deals in the back of our overstretched limos....?). Anyway the french deal was too costly for us in terms of (percentage) and reputation mainly (the guy was selling his own damaged gear and telling complaining clients to call tokyo ...) We are looking for someone serious in the UK, France and Germany.

Merry Xmas and say a prayer for James B

AnalogJapan,

Thanks for responding to my email in such a prompt amount of time. That MP is not as prestine as I would've wanted, but the price is still very competitive.

I know one of these days I will buy something from you.

Cheers.
