Don't matter to me really Moy. I can git down on either. I'm a basement producer who makes beats and bass lines. I'm not trying to reproduce the Boston pops. And I don't do techno. And I'm not saying those who are trying to recreate Bach's concerto in A minor or those making techno are worse or better than me. I just do me. I have an old Fender copy bass and even on old Ensoniq EPS (not the 16 plus, but the original EPS). All my joints is a little dirty. For what I want to do it works. If I were a painter my stuff would be on the side of concrete walls not the Sistine Chapel. I can just see Michealangelo and Ramone from Beat Street arguing over what's noisier, a set of pristine brushes or a can of spray paint. I've done tracks on MV and MPC. Go to myspace.com/prophacee and tracks 1 and 4 were done with 2500, Reason and ProTools. Track 2 2500 and Protools. Track 3 was done with MV and ProTools. Are any of these perfectly mastered perfect sounding platinum masterpieces. Hell naw. But they're my tags and I'm proud of them. I agree, I wouldn't put Miroslov strings thru the 2500 either. I probably wouldn't run them thru the MV either. I'd probably put them thru Reason or something. Scott Storch uses the MPC2000 or 3000 specifically for drums and plays everything else through computer based samplers. Even Storch who has an awesome ear, prefers the MPC sound for drums. I primarily use mine for drums and samples. Again, to me after all of the traks I've created on both, to me the 2500 sounds slighty better for what I need to do, but I gits down with the MV too. Don't matter dude. Really don't matter.
