sleepersriddle: what do you think of the ex5 yo? what do you use it for?
well its a great sounding machine... performance controls are great (3 wheels, touchstrip and 6 knobs), nice keyoard
otoh its kind of a bi**h to program but I've had it for a long time so Im used to it now.
its internal sequencer and arpeggiator has crap timing, though, so stay away from using those.
Its a good cheap alternative to your tritons and what have you; probably the rompl'ing is not quite as up to date but the included VL and AN engines actually go beyond those machines in many ways for real 'synth' type sounds, which i like.
i use it for quickly filling in tracks on the song im working on (bass sounds, piano sounds, organ, guitar, and especially synth)... often i will keep those or maybe i will redo it later with another vst or module, but its my old friend so it makes a good quick 'all in one' sound source.
