I'd imagine there might be some sort of restriction here though. As I understand it, when you use one pad with several layers you use 1 (or 2 for stereo) voice of the 32 available. One the other hand when using the JJ Simult feature you will be using more voices for each pad you add.
Now there would appear to be 32 amp envelopes, 32 filter envelopes and 32 pairs of filters, what I don't know is whether or not they are implemented within the os or whether there are dedicated chips in there machine performing these tasks. If it is within the os then anything maybe possible, however if there are a finite number of hardware filters and/or envelope generators within the mpc then using more than one on single pad would have to use more voices. In all fairness this may not bother anyone but it's something to think about.
